I bought it at a liquor store in a neighboring town on the recommendation of the owner. As a beginner, I did not know that this was a popular brand in Niigata, but it seems to be sold out quickly. The aroma was fruity, but it was difficult to compare it to any fruit, and at the risk of being rude, it had a hint of pear with a hint of Oronamin C somewhere in it. The taste was quite sweet and slightly effervescent. There was almost no sourness or bitterness, and the overall taste was sweet, but it ended up being light and smooth 🫰. A little more sourness and bitterness would be closer to my taste, but it was also sweet and delicious👍. It was more like a delicious sake on its own than a food sake! By the way, I also recommend the 6oz piccolo glass from Kimura Glass Shop, which has a thin mouth for a reasonable price!

Purchased at a local liquor store in Tochigi. This is my first Sentori! I poured it into a small champagne glass and smelled it first. The aroma was gorgeous and fruity with little alcohol smell! The aroma is my favorite sake so far! When I drank it, it had sweetness and sourness in the beginning and a bitter aftertaste that was slightly dry. I didn't go "wow" after drinking it, but it was moderately tasty 😀. From a beginner's point of view, Shinsen's Spring of God, Masumi's Tsukikoshi, and Niimasa's Viridian are my top 3 so far!

I bought this sake at a liquor store when I went back to my hometown in Tochigi, not knowing that my local sake was so famous. It was my first time to try Houou Mita, and it's going to be a bad review for those who like it😅. When I poured it into a glass and smelled the aroma, I could smell the freshness in the alcohol smell 😭. I prefer to drink unfiltered raw sake, but this smell was new to me and surprised me even though I kept it in a cooler box when traveling and in the fridge when I got home. When I drank it, it was sweet and fruity like honey, and the alcohol content was high, so the second half of the bottle was dry. It didn't suit me 😅 as I like modern sake like fruity, gassy, fresh and acidic. Other types might taste completely different, so sorry if you like it 🙏.

It was reasonably priced at about 500 yen for 300 ml. The Tsuruya Chino store, where we stopped by to buy food for our camping trip, is close to Suwa, where the Masumi brewery is located, and this limited edition label was available there. It claims to be a low-alcohol 13%, but I could feel the alcohol content in spite of that. I like Masumi, but this one is well-balanced to say the least. At worst, it is a sake without much character 😅. That said, it's sake to drink outside with a bonfire and grilled steak, so anything tasted good lol.

This is one of the four Masumi bottles that I drank with my father at my parents' house on the first anniversary of my grandfather's death. It is low in alcohol at 12%, so I felt I could drink as much as I wanted. It has a sweet fruity melon-like flavor, and I think it is easy for women to drink as well 😀. The woman next to me said it was the best tasting at the brewery tasting in Suwa. I like mellow, sweet sake, but it lacked a bit of umami, and the sake was drinkable like water, which was not enough for me. It seems to be a good entry point for people who don't usually drink sake👍(I am a beginner myself, lol). (I am a beginner myself lol)

This is one of the four Masumi sake sets (red, white, kaya, and black) that I brought with me when I went back home for the first anniversary of my grandfather's death. The aroma and taste both have a dairy-like sourness to them, which is delicious. ☺️ It is not sour, but moderately sour. Red: sourness White: fruity. Low alcohol taste. Kaya: Rice flavor Black: dryness The following is a brief description of the image of the wine.

This is a rare Niimasa Viridian directly pumped at the sake shop of the distributor to which I went back to my hometown. It is made with a pure rice brewing method using the No. 6 yeast. Polishing ratio 50%. This is my first time to drink Shinmasa, but it is just delicious 🤤. Maybe my nose is weak, but I didn't really recognize the aroma before drinking it as citrus jam like the description says. When I drink it, a fruity sweetness like melon comes first and this is the best. In the middle, a citrusy astringency comes through the micro-firing, and this gives it a clean aftertaste, and who wouldn't love this? The label said it should be refrigerated and aged for 3-5 years, but I couldn't resist 😭. It tastes like a slightly less sweet version of Masumi's "Tsukikoshi" with an added citrus astringency, and it's hard to say which is better.

It is just delicious. The kanji did not come up in the conversion, but it is "tsuki/seirei." This sake seems to be a reproduction of a special filtration technique practiced in the Edo period, and because it is labor intensive, it is sold in limited quantities. You can also learn how to make it on Masumi's YouTube channel. I tasted it at a brewery in Suwa and bought it immediately because it was the most delicious. It is a slightly sparkling, mellow, slightly sweet sake. It has a strong carbonation and a slightly spicy aftertaste when freshly poured, and my father-in-law, who likes dry sake, said it was delicious. On the other hand, for myself, who also likes sweet sake, the sweetness became stronger and I liked it more when the carbonation was gone after some time, not to mention when it was freshly poured. I can enjoy the change in flavor as time goes by, and it has become my favorite Masumi!

The second day of my trip to Shizuoka. The small inn had only one type of sake on tap. It is a brewed sake, so the price is reasonable, but it is a mellow sweet sake that is easy for women to drink and quite tasty! I think this sake is more suitable for everyone than Abyss, which is made with wine yeast.

During a trip to Shizuoka, I bought it at a liquor store that was open late after dinner. I went back to my room and sipped it. This sake is made with wine yeast. As described on the official website, the aroma reminded me of grapefruit and the bitterness was easily recognizable. Maybe a bit like white wine? With an alcohol content of 12%, it is not too pungent and has a clean aftertaste. As time passed after taking it out of the refrigerator, I felt that the originally small amount of rice flavor came out little by little👍. I prefer Garyubai as a mellow Shizuoka sake!

Ordered a sake tasting set at a sushi restaurant on a trip to Shizuoka. Kaiun: It was like a hot sake, making you feel hot to the stomach. Garyubai: Fruity aroma and flavor, easy to drink, I think everyone would like it. Koyoromo: No aroma at all. Light, dry, and refreshing. Garyubai was my favorite!

There is almost no mellowness or fruity flavor. Instead, it has a robust flavor with a strong aroma and flavor of rice. The alcohol content is low for a rice polishing ratio of 70%, so it can be drunk as much as you like. It also has a clean aftertaste. We recommend tasting the four varieties for 500 yen at the brewery in Suwa. The seasonal "Tsukikoshi" is especially delicious.

Relatively mellow, slightly dry. It had less fruity aroma and more rice aroma and umami. Less spicy than the Blue Label Hotarumai, with a more refreshing aftertaste.

This sake is made from 100% Hotaru rice. It is moderately dry, and the spiciness lingers in the throat for a few seconds after drinking. It was less mellow and fruity, and instead had a slight aroma of rice. I could not detect the acidity in the description for myself.

I understood the meaning of "umami" instead of "sweet" when I drank it. It is not fruity and sweet, but delicious with the aroma and umami of rice coming through with a gusto. It is less fruity and easy to drink for everyone, But this kind of taste is also good!

I have only had the left Spring of God, but it is my favorite sake I have ever had. It is light and easy to drink at 13% alcohol, but the taste is not only fruity, as is typical of Shinsensa, but also has a delicious saltiness to it (in layman's terms). (I felt that this was unique to Spring of God. I would like to drink it again.
