After work last night, I had a drink with my company drinking buddies ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿถโ™จ๏ธ Yoyogi An is located near Yoyogi station. The atmosphere is that of a high street izakaya, and the carefully prepared Japanese food and snacks are exquisite. The sake selection was also well thought out. The previous owner's family owns Sekinoi Sake Brewery, and this was my first time drinking Sekinoi, which had a standard and comforting taste.

Light alcohol aroma. At room temperature, the umami flavor rises, with alcoholic nuances, and it slowly becomes sharp. There is no significant difference between 40ยฐC and 50ยฐC. It is a normal sake, but it is well balanced with moderate umami and sharpness, and can be drunk pleasantly without any cloying taste. It is a high quality sake.

Drinking iron on a stove train I mean, it's great to have sake + surume seared in the train, or perhaps officially approved by the railroad company ๐Ÿ˜€. With freshly seared Hachinohe surume, sake, and the snowy scenery, how could it not be delicious? It's what we call a regular sake, but it's a delicious sake with no hint of a tangy taste! I feel like I want to stay on it and drink it all the time!

January Tasting Extravaganza at Icoma Sake Shop Looks like Icoma-san got this sake from the organizer when he was at an event in Tokyo the other day. This is the event that Mr. Matsuchiyo is reviewing ๐Ÿ˜. It's a sake brewery in Mutsu City, the northernmost sake brewery in Honshu. According to the official website, the rice is from the Masugumi rice plant, the ratio of polished rice is 60%, and the sake degree is +2. It's dated December 2012, but it has a slight sense of maturity. I wonder if it's been in the brewery? It's possible it wasn't kept refrigerated. Marriage classic and smooth drinking. Some sweetness, but a little spicy ๐Ÿค”. I thought it was unusual to have added sugar when it's not original or nigori I thought I'd like to pair it with seafood ๐ŸŸ. I also had a chance to try some of the new Aizu Homare products, but I couldn't find them in a search, and they seem to be pre-release, so I won't post them here for now ๐Ÿ˜Œ They were really delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹. The dry version of Morinori was just as good as the one I had last year ๐Ÿ˜‹.

Good morning, bouken๐ŸŒž. I haven't had Sekinoi's Kamisen yet. Did it look like it would be good for warming up?

Good morning, Matsuchiyo-san ๐ŸŒ…. I thought it's not the type of sake you drink cold ๐Ÿ˜… I guess it would be cold or heated ๐Ÿค”

Golf in Aomori. The golf course was near the coast, but I was surprised that there was no wind and it was too comfortable. During lunch break, I chose a sake with the name of the golf course on it. I should have had beer. It tasted just like you would expect sake to taste. It is a memory.

I had a drinking party in Arakicho, Shinjuku, but I had some time to spare, so I went to an izakaya that stocks Aomori sake, which is rare in Tokyo ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ˜…. First up was Sekinoi in Mutsu City on the Shimokita Peninsula. The lady at the store told me that the brewery usually makes sweet sake, which is not typical of Aomori, but this is the "back" Sekinoi, a very dry sake. This is the first time for me to try it. The initial aroma has a hint of classic acidity. The mouthfeel is a robust, complex, umakuchi type. It also has a hint of sweetness with umami. It is said to have a Sake meter of +10, but the umami is so good that you don't feel it. It would be interesting to heat it up. I'd like to try a regular Sekinoi or another brand of Kantatema. It's pretty good ๐Ÿถ๐ŸŽ.

Looks like it's consumed almost exclusively locally. Have you ever seen cold standing horses? I hear they are good too.
