I found the one you are talking about and bought it to try 🍶. It's been a while since I've had a "Gekkeikan" itself! When you open the bottle and pour it, it has a sweet aroma like honey. The mouthfeel is smooth and light. The balance of softness, lightness, sweetness, and acidity makes it a sports drink, which is understandable! The aftertaste is also refreshing and not at the level of a junmai sake, so I feel it is more accessible to sake beginners than to those new to sake👍. 300 is empty in an instant. I wonder if it is the taste and drinkability that only Fushimi sake can produce... it makes me think a lot 😌.

I bought it a while ago because it was the subject of a petit flame war on X by a new political believer who gave it a bad review. I was looking for 3㌥ because a lot of stores only carry 4gou and 7-Eleven had it 😊. It's sweet and sour with a lactic acid-like sourness. Like everyone says, it's like a sports drink. I don't think it's as thin as people say, but it's still thin 🤔. It doesn't have much flavor and I feel like I'm missing something. I realized after I bought it that it is a junmai sake. But I wonder if I want to try sake after drinking this? I wish they would name it something like "Gatton Mikan" or "Gatton Argo" and give it a strong flavor.

The initial aroma is a little sour and slightly bran-like. The color is clear with a yellowish tinge. The smooth mouthfeel is quickly followed by a sweet and sour taste, with a slight lactic acid bacteria taste at the back. However, there is no alcohol taste at all. The sweet and sour taste and the rice taste are similar to Himezen, but clearer and lighter. It is drinkable and you can tell it is like a sports drink. With only 5% alcohol by volume, it has less punch and a totally different attack... It is better to drink it at room temperature rather than chilled. The much talked about 5% alcohol sake🍶. I found this at Lawson. Pale yellow, light aroma, moderate sweetness. Sourness and a little bitterness. Not sweet sports drink, still young with sour taste, what kind of fruit was it 🤔? I was thinking 🤣 and then it was gone. I like dark flavors mostly, so the less sweetness, the thinner it seems. So if you can make it sparkling, it might be easier to drink 🤔. I'd love to hear what people who don't like sake or have never had it before, which is probably the target audience 😊.

A new attempt by Gekkeikan. It is an Argo with 5% alcohol by volume that claims to be surprisingly drinkable. This is a new product that is the result of the seriousness of a major sake brewing company that wants people to enjoy sake even on weekdays. I tried it because I wanted to experience the seriousness of a major company! The appearance is pale yellow gold. No gassiness. The aroma is very mild but refreshing. The main flavor is freshness of young pears, with some plums including acidity. The riceiness is also quite noticeable. Smooth mouthfeel. After the unexpectedly firm sweetness and acidity, the refreshing rice and koji sensations spread with a strong sense of transparency, and it finishes with that same transparency. The finish is sharp and has a short aftertaste. It has a watery quality that makes it easy to drink, and it certainly has the feel of a sports drink! The sweet and sourness accompanied by a slight alcohol bitterness has the feel of plum wine or apricot wine. In a word, it is a "spodolite drink made with rice. The fact that the only ingredients are rice and rice malt shows its spirit.
