This time it was Hyakugakumon, a sake from Nara. When the first sip was opened, it had a strong aroma characteristic of Bodai yeast, so we let it sit for a few days. At room temperature. The color is yellow crystal. The top aroma is of cheese and sweet grapes. The mouthfeel is clean and refreshing. When you take a sip, the cheese-like aroma softly passes through to the nose, and the flavor of fragrant rice spreads powerfully from the sweet and sour taste. The second half of the taste is tightly tightened by bitterness, and the taste is sharp and clean. I personally chose Hyakurakumon because I like this core rice flavor. When warmed to lukewarm, the rice flavor expands and the taste is complex and rich! The presence of the rice as if you are drinking it is absolutely irresistible👍. We went to the Shoreki-ji Bodhi Hashiroshi Festival in Nara. I was impressed by the precious experience of tasting the soya water, the smell of steamed rice, and the Bodai spring, and most of all, the sight of the seven brewery managers working together to make the Bodai yeast! It was a wonderful experience to see firsthand the efforts being made to carry on the sake culture. And during the festival, I ran into a person from Tokyo. His detailed black schedule of the Nara Sake Tour involving the Bodhi Hashiroshi Festival was so amazing that I dropped him off at the station and he gave me a pair of sake cap earrings as a thank-you. Thank you 💕. Did I make it to the goal?

Hi Hirupeko, good evening 🌛I'm glad you had a good time at the Bodhi Hashimoto Festival 😆 I also went last year and was very impressed 😁It was a wonderful meeting to help you with your passionate sake activities 😉 I see why you chose Hyakurugumon 👍.

Hi Hirupeko, good evening 🌃 Thanks for your hard work the other day ✨It was a wonderful day meeting people through alcohol 😊. Wish I could have bought one of those 🤔.

Good morning, Nemuchi-san. ☀️ I learned so much about the Bodhi Hashimoto Festival that I can't write about it here! It's different to feel it with your five senses instead of just reading about it😊It was cold this year too, but wasn't it even colder last year?

Good morning, bouken, good morning to you too 😊I didn't buy any sake at Shorekiji 😅But I wonder if what I bought at Kitara will lead me to the next Hyakugakumon, too.

Hi, Hirupeko 😀 I see that you bought this sake at Shonryakuji Temple 😀. Your technique of letting it sit for a bit after opening the bottle is awesome 😳 I went through with just the drinking comparison set, but I guess that was a mistake 😅.

Hello, Yasube. I didn't buy sake at Shorekiji, but I ended up buying it at a liquor store on my way home. The aroma of linden yeast is unique, so it was bad when I opened the package😅.

Good evening, Hirupeko😄. I see that Hyakurugakumon's Kamitatekoso is different from that of Yatagarasu. I couldn't detect much aroma in the sake tasting set at Shorakuji😅.

Hello, Rutemi. I see that the Shorakuji sake tasting set had lost a lot of its aroma. Hyakugakumon also had a bad smell of unique Bodhi yeast when it was opened 😭 it becomes easier to drink after a while 😊.

Katsuragi Brewery took over the business last year due to a lack of successors. This year was the first year for Mr. Taniguchi, who took over the business? He looked like he was working like one of the Nara Sake Brewery Avengers, but he had a presence that was second to none 🦸. By the way, I wonder if there are any new members of Bodai Kenkyu, although some breweries have left the organization due to closure of business, etc.? Like Kikushi, it is dry but full-bodied and drinkable. I feel relieved because Hyakugakumon has many easy-to-drink dry wines that even I, who don't like dry wines, can drink. The sake lees soup (200 yen) is extremely tasty and warming. I should have asked where they use sake lees😅. According to Nemuchi's post, it used to be 100 yen, but I think 200 yen is cheap enough.

Good morning. I remember drinking this many years ago. It's been a long time since I saw the label. Kikuji is very light overall. If you are not a dry person, it may not be a good match for you.

Hi bouken😃 Tsuji Honten of Gozenshu in Okayama seems to have come to the Bodhi Hashiro Festival on Instagram, but I don't know if they won't let you in or not 🤔There are many differences between Bodhi Hashiro and Mizu Hashiro, and it seems to be very difficult to get in 😅.

Hello bouken 😊 I don't know much about it, but it is very fruitful to be able to see the preparation of the sake and to taste the sake, which I usually can't drink! The sake lees soup looks delicious ❣️ and everything is cheap 😳I'm looking forward to more after this 🎶.

Good evening, Shinjou-san 😃. I have an impression that Hyakurugakumon is not flashy but consistently tasty no matter what you drink 😋. I thought Kikushi needs a little more umami 😅.

Good evening Aladdin. I didn't know that one of them was from Gozenshu 😳I heard that there are inquiries from breweries all over the country to visit the brewery, but I wonder how they would like to participate 🤔By the way, in the Q&A session, the answer was the same for both Bodai yeast and Mizu yeast 😊.

Good evening, Ponchan 😃. There was a handout on what is Bodhidhara and the host explained a lot about it 🤓. The person in the front row got some burnt rice and ate it 🤓.

2024 Here is the first one! Hyakurugakumon was given to me by my in-laws in Osaka. The fruity aroma spreads out. The first sip is sweet! Perhaps it is because it is a bit thick, but it leaves a sweet taste in the mouth. I was a little disappointed that I could not taste the freshness of nama-zake. It may not be the way to go, but I would have liked to drink it with carbonated water.

It was definitely sweet! It was like a sweet wine. It's delicious, but... a dry 80.

Nearly clear and colorless with a faint hint of oli. Fruity aroma reminiscent of apples and pineapples. The aroma is moderately strong. The mouthfeel is refreshingly tart with a slight effervescence. Moderate sweetness. The freshness of the attack is transformed by the slightly strong astringent and bitter overtone. The sharpness is good. Medium lingering aftertaste with a slight fruity note. It is a fragrant and mellow sake.

I got it as a souvenir! It's more like I'm drinking sake than the usual dry sake. It's not a dry sake, but it's the first time in a long time that I've had a good sake that hit me hard! I was very happy to have it! Thank you very much!

The rice used is Omachi grown in Okayama Prefecture. This was quite a fun sake. ❣️ The sake level was listed as ➕13, but the first thing that hit me when I sipped it was the sweetness of the omachi-like flavor. It was not a "sweet ❗️" sensation, though. Soon after that, I felt a good amount of bitterness and a nice tangy taste, I see that it is a dry sake. The aftertaste is clean and well-balanced. It can be drunk either gulping it down or sipping it slowly, and both are delicious. The back series is good. ‼️
