Hachisen's first in a long time, but the sweetness keeps the volume down.
It might be the difference from the red label we drank several times before, but when we checked, all the previous bottlings were all 17 degrees.
Is it a difference of only one degree?
Or is it a change in taste?
It has no peculiarities or unnecessary aroma, and is mild to drink.
It is easy to drink with a meal.
I was told at the liquor store that it was drier and less aromatic than other Hachisen, but it didn't seem too spicy.
Tonight, at a popular counter kappo restaurant in Kyoto, we will be serving a series of 5 sake from the owner's hometown of Aomori‼️ We will start with a nouveau directly pumped special pure rice sake from Mutsu Hachisen💙.
Souzake. It has no aroma, but when you put it in your mouth, it has a faint sweet aroma of rice! The mouthfeel is umami-guchi with a strong flavor, but the rest of the mouthfeel is crisp and fresh. I got it as a travel souvenir from my father! Definitely goes well with sushi.
The umami of rice with a strong acidity. It has an astringent taste of ori (rice powder).
Not exactly my favorite on its own, but good as a food sake.
I drank it with tandoori chicken this time, and it was not a bad match for the salty and spicy flavor.
