It was half price at the supermarket, about 1,000 yen (1.8L). I started drinking it as a cooking sake, but finished more than 90% of the bottle without any twitchiness. As expected, it is an ordinary junmai sake. The label says it can be served at room temperature, chilled, or lukewarm, but if you want to drink it, it should be heated. This time of year, I often cook oden and nabe (hot pot), and often drink it with dashi. This was the best way for me to drink it. For better or worse, it is a sake with no peculiarities. I had never seen it before, but it must be a local brand. I found this sake in the darkness of the distribution system, but this kind of encounter is also a pleasure at the supermarket.
The price was 1064 (1800 ml) including tax, and it was on sale at half price.
Yoshinoya Sake. Middle-of-the-road, core but well-balanced.
The impression is that it is understated and restrained, which goes well with beef bowls and other snacks.
At the sake bar at the Niigata Food and Sake Festival in Harukas.
We started with the first one from the right, Kashiwa Dew Nigori Sake.
It is very sweet and has a low alcohol content of 8 degrees.
The sake level is -60 degrees, so even beginners will like this one. 🙆♂️
On a hot summer day, a sake brewer was at THE NIIGATA (Niigata Information Center / Products Hall) in Ginza. I tasted the sake, liked it instantly, and bought it.
Today, I opened the bottle!
I learned the term "rich and dry" with this sake. It has a nice aroma that lingers in your mouth after drinking and makes you want to drink it again.
The label is cool and nice too!
JUN-san Good evening. When I was a freshman in college (45 years ago), heated sake that everyone else could no longer drink was lined up in front of me at a party. I did not like sake at that time. But I found a good sake at a liquor store that appeared in the local edition of the newspaper!
AAJI, thank you for sharing your wonderful memories 😊The line of heated sake left by everyone at the party...you must be pretty strong (lol)...it's wonderful to meet good sake at a local liquor store.
Ponshukan Nagaoka Station Store drinking groupie 8th cup.
I wanted to try a strong dry sake, so I chose Kashiwa Dew.
I thought it would be okay because I am used to drinking Sanzenmori, but I didn't feel it was that spicy despite its high alcohol content.
It did have a cheese-like sourness, but it was not strong.
I would have understood if I had drunk it first.
I still have some more sake to drink, so I bought some coins.
Slightly yellowish and clear with fine effervescence. There are aromas of honeysuckle, topknot, and pear. The attack is rather strong, with gentle acidity, rich sweetness, and a rather long finish.
