I was planning to have a morning cup at SENDAI STATION BREWERY Fermenteria on the first floor of Sendai Station... but it looked like there would be a bit of a wait, so I changed my mind and went to the Zimauma Sake Shop next door.
Here, you can drink as much as you want for 30 minutes for ¥1,800.
With my friend who is a sake taster, I could not have imagined the flow of drinks by myself, which was also fun...all-you-can-drink in the morning! I couldn't help but laugh.
In the short time of 30 minutes, we had 10 different kinds of Miyagi sake, a little bit at a time, served in a boar cup.
Each one had its own character, and the time spent slowly savoring them was very pleasant.
Among the most memorable were,
A collaboration sake from Shimama Sake Shop and Koganezawa.
I was attracted by the phrase "sake made with Yamahai" and picked up a bottle as a souvenir.
It has a nice aroma and lingering taste.
I had a wonderful sake time in the morning and it filled my heart with joy 🍶🌿.
I've never heard of this sake.
It is a sake that is both a little sweet and dry, but perhaps the bottle had been opened a little while and the taste was a little blurred. I heard it is actually quite sharp.
Ingredients: Rice (domestic), rice malt (domestic)
Rice: 100% Gin-no-Iroha
Polishing ratio 50%.
Alcohol content 15
Merry-go-round, merry-go-round, merry-go-round...
So, this is Koganezawa's merry-go-round, not Toshinobu Kubota's...!
I've already bought this sake by the packet... I wonder if it's really to my taste?
The rice is Hitomebore? I haven't had rice sake for a long time.
When it's cooled down, it has a slight sweetness, with a citrusy acidity.
The aftertaste is not too harsh, but very refreshing.
When the temperature rises a little, the acidity becomes more pronounced.
It is easy to drink, so I have to make sure that I don't drink too much and end up on a merry-go-round (pretend).
Miyagi Expedition Spoils of War
Sendai Station Mutoya
It is an easy-to-drink sake with a fruity aroma, a little sweetness and acidity, and no cloying taste.
We enjoyed it with shime saba (mackerel) and shabu-shabu (swordfish) nabe.
It is a delicious sake that goes well with tofu, leeks, mushrooms, marronnies, etc. while eating.
