Purchased at a direct sales shop in the Kurayoshi Shirakabe storehouse complex. It has a flavor that is not in vogue, which is common among Tottori's sake. A dignified sake that goes well with fish.

We ventured to buy the most reasonably priced josen from a sake brewery in Kurayoshi.
We tried it hot, lukewarm, room temperature, and cold, and personally prefer it at room temperature.
No matter what temperature I drank it at, it was surprisingly mild, not guttural.
It is indeed a "food sake" for people who drink it every day.

The top aroma is grape. The flavor is also grape-like, more like the juice that comes out when you put a piece of grape juice in your mouth. However, the acidity is low. The taste also disappears quickly.
A very good nigori sake with a hint of sourness. The slight sourness is addictive. And because it's a pure sake, the alcohol content is quite high and you can smell the top shelf aroma. Very creamy.
When Prince Heihachiro Togo accompanied Prince Higashinomiya (later Emperor Taisho) to the brewery, "Asahi Masamune" brewed by Kurato Honten (later called "Gansho Shuzo") was offered to the Emperor. Later, in 1913, the sake was renamed "Genchou" in honor of Togo's becoming a general.
This is good, a mellow, regular sake that can be enjoyed in large gulps. It would be luxurious if you could drink it on a regular basis, wouldn't it? Sourness and spiciness intertwine with a hint of sweetness. You will never get tired of drinking it.

It has the sourness and sweetness of a lactobacillus-like beverage, which is unique to nigori (nigori) sake, but as one would expect from a 19% sake, it has a strong alcohol taste. However, as I drank it, I became accustomed to it and was able to drink it easily with nabe (hot pot) as a side dish.

I was able to drop by Kurayoshi City in Tottori Prefecture this year, where I paid my hometown tax last year, and bought some Gensho again at the brewery! It's sweet and tasty (**)
I found this warehouse by chance in Kurayoshi Shirakabe Dozo group, which appeared on google map during a trip to San-in area. I had never heard of this brewery.
It is a junmai ginjo, a local sake with a ginjo aroma but a mild taste that is easy to drink. The "General" is said to refer to General Heihachiro Togo. The name was changed in 1907 when Emperor Taisho (Crown Prince at the time) and General Togo made their first visit to the San-in region. The visit of the first imperial family and heroes of the Russo-Japanese War must have had a considerable impact on the San'in region, as it led to the opening of an electric telephone and railroad line, an infrastructure development (had it not been opened before?). It is the same in all places in all ages that infrastructure is established at the time of a major event.
