Autumn Sake is arriving one after another. This is Musho from Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, a brand that is not often seen and is new to us.
It is made from 100% Koshitanrei sake rice produced in Niigata Prefecture, and has a dry taste with a low sweetness. It has a dry taste with a low sweetness. Combined with acidity and bitterness, it has a refreshing yet deep flavor, and is delicious without being boring to drink.
Overall refreshing, slightly sweet, delicately bubbly and richly layered summer wine, with acidity, minerality and a slightly bitter, pungent finish.
This is the first time I've tasted a summer wine that is so light!
This is probably one of the few summer wines I've enjoyed so far. It's clean, yet layered, and the first "no thoughts" experience was perfect!
I bought it because the last time I drank Musho's raw sake was so good. This is "Tensei," which only a few stores in Japan carry. It is said to be a modern dry sake, and I have high expectations for this one as well.
The rice used is Niigata's Koshitanrei, and although it is a neat dry sake, it has a gorgeous aroma and is different from the classic dry sake. It seems to have a sourness to it, but I think melon is the best fit for the taste.
It is refreshing, so I think it is suitable for those who do not like sweet sake.
