My nephew brought his wife and we had a good time drinking, and all that was left were the delicious, fun memories and the bottles...,
Maybe next year, I'll review.
Shigeke Shuzo, Iki City, Nagasaki Special Junmai Yokoyama Gin no Sato
Sake made in Iki, the island of the gods Nagasaki sake is few in number, and there used to be none that stood out, but this sake has no peculiarities and has a nice tangy acidity on the tongue!
It is a sake that goes well with both Japanese and Western cuisine.
It is said to be the one and only sake brewed with "Gin-no-sato" sake rice grown on the island's soil and underground water that was searched for five years in Iki, where the brewery is located (quoted on the Todoroki Sake Brewery website).
From the fruity aroma of strawberries and lychee, the sake has a good balance between the unique, calm sweetness, umami, and moderate gassiness, ending with a small to slightly medium bitterness that fades out nicely✨.
I got hooked on Yokoyama with their summer jungin, and this was another must-try for those who like sweet and umami 😊.
Recently, I have been enjoying this sake.
This sake has a fruity aroma like bananas, and when you put it in your mouth, you can taste a little gas, sourness, and sweetness, making it very fruity and easy to drink.
The acidity is very fruity and easy to drink. The sourness is like that of grapes, if I may say so.
It is very tasty.
This is a summer-only junmai ginjo from Yokoyama. From the moment the bottle is opened, a bubbling sound indicates that the gas is tightly packed. From the aroma, it has a refreshing scent typical of summer sake. It is light on the palate, with a refreshing sweetness that runs through the mouth without being cloying. A perfect sake to drink in this hot and humid season with the air conditioner on.
Like Koei Kiku the other day, this is the second brand we bought at KISSYO SELECT after careful examination. I was also attracted by the story written on the label and its passion.
Oh, this is...! It has a nostalgic taste like a "bottle of Ramune," but with an exquisite bitterness and unctuous sweetness. It has a nostalgic taste like a "bottle of Ramune," but with a perfect bitterness and sweetness that is not overpowering. I can feel the atmosphere like that. ...Yeah, it's hard for me to understand what I'm saying... lol...
In other words, it is very tasty and the bottle is almost empty. I would like to visit Iki, too.
The Shigeya Shuzo brewery, which brews Yokoyama, has a unique approach to sake. It is a limited distribution sake in Nagasaki Prefecture. It's been a long time since I've had it, but it's fruity and delicious.

Fruity, with a slight acidity and gassy mouthfeel, and a banana-like aroma and flavor that spreads in the mouth.
