I bought this at th Chitosetsuru Museum, and I knew it won a competition recently. I don't like coming in wih high expectations, but I need not worry. It has a tinge of a golden hue. The aroma is amix of wild mint and musk melon. The first taste is sweet and heavy like a candy apple. The bod is present immediately. Mid taste is a cascade of refreshing mint from the center of tounge out. The after taste has a blip of acidity and leaves a nice tingle. Easily one of my favorites! 素晴らしい！

I got this while meeting up with someone I previously met in Hakodate. I was delighted at this version of drinkware. The sake has exceptional clarity and is delightful cold. This is a dry sake, which is a great contrast to the nihon-shu I have been recently drinking. The first taste doesn't reveal much aside from the medium body. Mid taste is faintly floral as the alcohol starts to lightly prickle the toung. even though it's cold, I think I'd prefer this on cold days.

I visited Chitosetsuru's museum and felt like trying a nigori. it's a cup sake so, I didn't expect the most from it, and maybe the other bottles are even better. It is a musky sweet sake. Heavy body as expected, with a clean finish. Acidity is particularly noticable for a nigori. Tang and musk are the two things that sticks strongest in my mind drinking this.

I am not sure which sake this is from Kunimare, but I received it as a gift from someone I am camping with at Ogon Misaki. I am very likely to enjoy this with a beautiful view towards the brewery with the man who gifted me this. As suggested, I had this warm. Perfect after a day cycling in cold Hokkaido rain. Sweetness of a pear with a medium body and low acidity made this a great sipping sake. Clean finish too, making every sip fresh.

I got this at Sōya Misaki, the final destination of my Japan bike trip, aside from getting to the airport. I was excited to see a special edition nihon-shu! This is a slightly dry sake. Barely sweet at the beginning with a medium body. The mid and after taste is where the acidity shines. This finishes with a light alcohol bite and a neutral taste leaving you ready for the next sip with some good food. I wish I could drink this with ホッケ. It won't be the last I drink here, but it is a great cap.

On the first sip I tasted mint. a little surprising, but as I settled into drinking more, the floral notes stayed while highlights of muted savory notes interjected. This sake finishes sharp, and it's no surprise at 17.5%. This sake would pair well with spicy food. I am thinking more Indian and Nepalis cuisine.

oh, yeah, I bought this for the label. However I was in the mood for a nigori and this was brewed 60km from where I am staying. The aroma is the typical nigori sweet note. The front is very bright and crisp. As the sake settles a lovely pear flavor emerges along with the heavy viscous body, making me think of a pear tart topped with vanilla ice cream. It finishes clean on the tounge with a light alcohol tinge on the back of the throat. Easy delightful drink.

This sake doesn't have any notable aroma, but it doesn't need it. The sake washes over the tounge with a gentle sweet note. The medium body makes itself known while the floral mid tones become present. Acidity come late, but is gentle, like a mikan ice cream. There is a small alcohol bite on the after taste, bit it washes away with every sip. Truly an easy sake to drink and enjoy. Perfect after working in a Teppanyaki restaurant.

I got the chance to visit Rihaku and I knew of them from drinking Wandering Port and Dreamy Cloud in the US. Caro stuck out to me, not just from the pink color from the black rice used. It is a light body with a medium acidity. Not very sweet and even finishes a little tart for the front of the toung. The back and sides of the toung is where it feels sweet for the first part of the after taste. The soft sweetness reminds me a bit of kampyo. Delightful sake for the mouth and eyes.

Wow. What an interesting sake! The aroma comes off as a sweet peach. The flavor and feel starts as a soft syrup without being too sweet. Very light green grape flavor for me. What really makes this sake stand out is when the acidity kicks in. With a medium body, it feels nice to let the sake sit on the toung. As you do, it starts to tingle as if the sake is carbonated, but it isn't. If you have ever eaten Rice Crispy cereal, it has a similar mouth feel but with a tough of alcohol. Amazing.

I got this on Okunoshima after wandering and feeding wonderful rabbits among dark ruins. This feels special since Okunoshima was the first destination in Japan I know I wanted to go. I find this sake a bright sweetness that swiftly falling off to a soft dryness. I doesn't leave any sharp or tangy after taste. Medium acidity and a light body. A fantastic sake to sit back and enjoy sip after sip.

I picked up Eiko's Nigori at a souvenir shop near Dogo Onsen. I was delighted with it, and I realized the warehouse was a short walk away, so I went. Through my little Japanese, I expressed my enjoyment and desire to try something special. They recommended Fresh Green, a limited yearly release. It was a delightful sake! Light and crisp with a lovely gentle sweetness. A perfect touch of acidity. Everyone I shared this with at the guest house was enjoying it, from sake lovers to new drinkers.

I say this on a shelf of a souvenir shop near Dogo Onsen. it caught my eye since I was in the mood for a nigori, and the way this looked while separated made it seem thick. As a bonus, it's from just down the street. Wow this sake is thick. There is a lot of mouth feel from the rice particles, but in a pleasant way. It is very creamy. The sweetness isn't too strong and didn't linger. A heavy feeling easy to drink nigori. paired well with the salt and iyokan peel chocolate too.

This was the first proper sake I have gotten on my bike trip across Japan. since I'm camping I don't have this at quite the right temperature. it starts off with a round mouth feel, like a smooth marble. light and undescriptly sweet. the finish tastes like it wasn't to be a slightly tart pear. I am drinking this too warm so the alcohol over powers the finish. While rainy, it was nice to enjoy on a rest day on a beach north of Miyazaki.

I was hesitant seeing this cheap looking labele in the store, but I have never had a ginjo-shu or a sake from Shimane. As for the sake, it was the first sake I have had that reminred me of melon. Something like a Crenshaw or Christmas melon. The body is light and leaves a slight tinge on after taste. It tastes like a nigori, but a bit lighter. I'm glad I tried this, as it was amazing, but also Gassan is not far off my planned bike route across Japan for next year. Maybe I'll have to stop by.

First, I am very much a fan of the presentation. A simple lable with an eye catching bottle texture. The sake is not very aromatic, but comes on strong in the first taste. It is bright and tart. The sake feels close to sour, but doesn't quite break into what I would consider sour. This makes this sake very refreshing. The alcohol leaves a short tinge, but the flavor finishes clean. With a medium body, it is a very enjoyable experience sip after sip.

This sake is one of my new favorites. There wasn't much of an aroma that I could pick up at the time, but I did notice it's more earthy hue, likely from what the sake was stored in for the aging process. The flavor was a soft roll on of vanilla, without it feeling sweet or having a tart after taste. The later notes were fruity, mostly an apple flavor, with the alcohol providing a crisp finish. What I found most unique about this sake was the heavy body despite being filtered. Delightful.

This sake has one of the strongest aromas I have encountered yet. It is a pleasant soft caramel. The flavor begins gently with an unsweet vanilla at the top of the toung.

This is a sake I have had before, but the bottle was mis-handled and I never got to make an entry here. This, this was long awaited, as I remember this sake being the first filtered sake I really enjoyed. This sake holds up to my memory. On the front, it is softly sweet, like cotton candy grapes. Holds a medium body as the sweetness fades to a gentle sour. It finishes with a gentle bite and a flavor similar to zabaglione. This was a fantastic sake to delight my new sake drinker friends.

This sake came highly recommend from a friend, after his cycling trip in Japan. This is a very smooth sake. Very delicate aroma, something slightly floral. The flavor comes quick. It rolls on of a soft white grape wrapped in hibiscus. Being slightly dry let's the alcohol time to slowly disapate off the toung with minimal bite. Bright with a medium body makes this a well rounded experience.
