Miyamanishiki, 55% polished rice
Dry, with a tangy, fizzy taste. The aftertaste is spicy.
I had a bad premonition because of its yellowish color and unpleasant alcohol smell, but it tastes good. It has a strong fizzy feeling, so it might be good to dilute it with carbonated ice.
I went to Oarai on the spur of the moment during winter break🌊.
I had this Fuji Taikan with ankou nabe. I've only had it when it used to be called Taikan😅.
Actually, I had a glass of Tsuki no I before this, but it was too spicy or tasteless, like water, and lost out to the ankou nabe.
But I had no choice but to drink up the Sandesi afterwards 😅I honestly don't remember much of the taste.
But, since it was after the Tsuki no Ii, it had a nice flavor and sharpness that went well with the ankou nabe 😋.
Good morning, Mamio 😃!
Ankou nabe🍲 and local sake🍶 in Oarai 😍This Ibaraki set is the best! Interesting that the Oarai sake loses out to the ankou nabe and then turns around at Fuji Daikan 🤗.
Hi Jay & Nobby, ☺️
I used to think that light and dry sake was the way to go with seafood, but I've changed my mind since I learned that the robust umami of Yuho complements the dish! I would have loved to drink Yuho with ankou nabe if I could have 🤣.
Jay & Nobby, congratulations on getting Yuho! I've never had Akaka so I'm looking forward to your review 🎶I'm not a fan of Yuho's mountain grated type 😓I hope you like it, Nobby~ ☺️
For cheap and tasty drinks 🍶🎵.
This time from Ibaraki Prefecture 🍶Morishima Sake Brewery Co. ✨️
Fuji Taikan Nigori Sake
Alcohol content 15%.
Purchased with the PayPay 30% back campaign 🎵990 yen including tax ‼️ very cheap 🎉 and now they're giving 30% more back 😅 seriously badass 😂.
The amount of ori at the bottom of the bottle is about 3-4cm and rather large ✴First sip without stirring 🍶The taste is clean, calm, crisp, and dry 😌The silky texture and richness from mixing the ori added a slight alcohol taste, but I didn't mind so much the next day and enjoyed the drink 😋🎵The taste is sweet without being flashy. I thought it might be better if it was heated up 🍶, but I drank it all cold 😅.
Solo Year-End Party
Receiving drinks from another group that happened to be there
Fuji Daiginjo, which is more famous for Morishima these days
Yamadanishiki 40% polished rice
It is said to be the first prize winner of this year's Nanbu Touji Sake Competition!
Elegant and rich
Rich and refreshing
It is a good sake that makes various contradictions possible.
At the sake brewery
Fruity aroma reminiscent of white grapes, with a slight gassiness that enhances its freshness and crispness. Although the rice is polished to 65%, the potential of the heart white Yamada-Nishiki is brought out well.
100% Yamadanishiki, 65% polished rice
Alcohol content 15%.
Slightly colored. The aroma from the vessel is subdued but sweet, and when you take a sip, it is gaseous and fresh. It has a strong sense of passing through the nose, which is typical of junmai sake.
Unlike the familiar chic label, I was a little surprised by the pink sparkles ✨ 😉.
I've always been a fan of Morishima sake lately, but Fuji Taikan is also a delicious sake. I personally think it has a stronger flavor than Morishima.
I bought it at a local liquor store because I was attracted by the POP of "It's in stock! POP" at a local liquor store.
It is a local brand of Morishima!
It is not as dry as "dry", but has a slight sweetness and umami of rice, and goes down smoothly. Just right for nabe (hot pot).
This is too cosy for 1,000 yen 😋.
Creamy flavor and sweetness. It has a tender texture and soft aroma. Sourness and a slight astringency finish it off. It may be perfect for one-pot dishes on cold days.
