Today is Labor Thanksgiving Day. Thanks for your hard work, everyone! Souvenirs from Yurakucho (1) Tokushima "Hisagotaikou" Junmai-shu (pure rice sake) 🍶. Tokushima's famous sweets "Saoshika" 🦌. I wanted to match Japanese sweets with sake... â I was attracted by the name and 80% polished rice of "Kodou". I bought "Saoshika" because it arrived on Saturday and I felt a connection with it. The aroma was like ripe bananas! The taste is rich with a complex combination of acidity and graininess, as some of the malted rice is white! The pattern is like Bambi! Awa wasanbon sugar and azuki beans give this steamed confectionery a gentle sweetness. It is chewier than sponge cake due to the inclusion of yams! I enjoyed the contrast between the rich sake and the gentle wagashi ✨. A bonus! I thought this sake would go well with mackerel simmered in miso, so I cracked open the can! It supported the mackerel flavor beautifully 😋. ----------------- I have been to Shikoku only once on a graduation trip (traveling alone). I took a boat from Wakayama to Tokushima, then went to Kochi, Ehime, and Kagawa on a Seishun 18 ticket 🚃. My memory of Tokushima is the Bizan ropeway in the rain 😊I would go to the sake brewery now 😁.

Good morning, Aaru Sake! I am so moved by your Tokushima episode from this morning😍When we have a little Oga at home, my kids are so excited to have a guest. I have a memory of my grandfather's Hyoho Taikoo. If you come to Tokushima, be sure to visit Matsuura Sake Brewery for Naruto sea bream ❣️.

Hi Asanami! Wow, I'm so relieved to hear your memories of Little Oga😊🦌🦌I just noticed the love for your hometown in your name, Asanami-san! I was torn between a pop bottle of Naruto sea bream and a bottle of Hyoutaiko, which I had never had 🥰🥰.

Drinking at home in the morning. Sake bought in Tokushima. It uses LED dream yeast, a yeast grown using light-emitting diodes. I bought it because of the cute flower print on the stool. The taste is not so spectacular as it looks, but it has a robust flavor.

Purchased at a local liquor store. There were mellow junmai and dry junmai, and I was torn between the two, but I bought the mellow one. It is mellow and very tasty.

A sharp and dry special honjozo. I can picture the faces of many of my friends who might like this sake! For my personal taste, I like the soft euphoria of sake, so right after opening the bottle, the crispness felt cataclysmic, but after a little time, it opened up nicely. It was delicious when I paired it with a can of tomato-flavored mackerel that I happened to be eating, and it spazzed me out. Every day is new and wonderful.

It's refreshing and crisp. Is this what you call dry? It is a sourness that comes on sharply. Then, it disappears quickly. I drink it with shishamo fish marinated in oil. It is not bad.

And then, a surprisingly lingering bitterness. At first, I couldn't read... HISAGO TAIKOU I heard it's called "hisago taikou"....

I bought it because it was opened at Abeno Kintetsu. I had a hard time deciding which one to buy, but I decided on "konparu". I checked the manufacturer's website, and it seems that "Kinparu" is not on the mail order list. However, it appears to be on the Kintetsu store's photo every year and on Rakuten's list in the past, so I guess it is not uncommon for those who know about it. Now, one of my personal memories of Tokushima is the indigo dyeing experience, and this sake is from a place not too far from the indigo dyeing village. I enjoyed this sake while remembering my indigo dyeing experience. The sake was strong, yet easy to drink, and I tried to save myself from drinking too much. It reminded me of the Yoshinogawa River. Now... This is a sausage that my family prepared for me by chance. It was made in the town on the south side of the Yoshino River across from this brewery, and it turned out to be an evening in Tokushima. There are so many coincidences, and so much fun to be had. I am not sure if I am conveying my feelings, but I hope you will enjoy the evening.

Gyotaikoo Awa Tensui Alcohol content: 15%. Polishing ratio 55 Tokushima sake. A set of sake drinking comparison set with "Kodou" is sold at a souvenir shop. Fruity and delicious sake. It is so refreshing that it definitely goes well with raw fish and citrus fruits! I regretted not having prepared sudachi (Japanese citrus fruit) or bosu (Japanese citrus fruit). #Arisun in the Wilderness

Hyo-taiko 己道 Junmai sake. Made in Tokushima. Alcohol content 15%. Polishing ratio 80%. Sake that is light and has the umami of water. It is similar to the junmai sake I drank in Okayama. It is light, so I think it goes with relatively anything. Especially seafood. #Arisun in the Wilderness

Purchased at Kintetsu Department Store event, Sake Tour. I compared it with Junmai Ginjo and was impressed with this one, so I bought it. Fresh and citrusy? It is sweet at the beginning, but the sweetness and umami come in the second half of the bottle. I have to admit that I've only seen Hyo Hyohi at department store events. Apparently, the brewery that makes the sake is in Awa City, which is different from the address on the label.
