This sake is made by Kurumada Shuzo, famous for Tengumai.
This junmai sake is neither too heavy nor too light, but has a good balance of umami and acidity that keeps you from getting tired of drinking it. This is also a perfect sake for a mealtime drink.
The label reads, "Rin to shite no jikan (Time to Rin, free your mind).
I wonder what kind of time "Rin to shite" means to free one's mind.
Sake that I received as a gift. I often see this brand, but this is probably the first time I've seen it.
I was surprised to find out that it was made by Kurumada Sake Brewery. I remember drinking Tengu Mai more than 20 years ago when I found it at an izakaya and thought I was a connoisseur.
So, I guess this is the basic line of Tengu Mai, which is light and dry with a hint of fruity flavor.
It is a kind of "light and delicious" taste that no one can complain about. Izakaya's are very lucky to have this kind of sake.
