Purchased at Maya I've had Aizu Ryugasawa before, but this is my first Eikawa. The initial aroma is pear-like. When you put it in your mouth, it has a refreshing sweetness like green apple. Not too sweet and dry, like a cider.

There is sake in Tohoku. The owner of Aji Sodara Okachimachi in Izu, whose parents are from Fukushima, also has sake from Fukushima. The quality of Fukushima sake goes without saying. From the sweet aroma, the taste is less sweet and full-bodied.

The second bottle on New Year's Day. Although this one is also a Junmai Daiginjo, it tastes exactly the opposite of the first bottle. It is sweet, like brown sugar. The more you drink, the deeper it gets.

This is one of the four bottles in Kakuyasu's annual Hatsu Shibori set. When the bottle is uncorked, a mellow aroma wafts through the air. When poured into a glass, it looks a little cloudy. Rolling it around on the tongue, one senses a firm, dark sweetness. This is a winner. It is delicious.
