I went to the supermarket because I wanted a drink for the evening to drink while watching the opening game of the Premier League. I bought a bottle of Kihei's Omachi, a sake made by the Shizuoka brewery, expecting to like it as much as I liked the gorgeous Omachi. It was not what I had imagined, it was more like a classic Shizuoka sake. It is very light and dry.

This year, the rice used for the sake has been replaced by 2038 Honorific Fuji, and the label has been redesigned. When you drink it, there is a distinct sweetness at first, but the bitterness comes later and disappears. It has a sweet taste, but it is dry. Since it is dry with a clean aftertaste, it went well with Hamamatsu dumplings (🥟). I think I like this kind of sake lately. By the way, recently chilled dumplings are easy to cook and delicious. They are surprisingly inexpensive.

Kihei Junmai Tsukiyooshi Shizuoka Brewery 14-15% 60 Heiki Shuzo Shizuoka Brewery is a relatively new brewery established in 2012. The brewery makes use of soft water from the Abekawa River to produce a beautiful sake. The brewery gives a strong impression of being suitable for eating. This time, I bought a summer sake called Tsuki Ryoushi. The first sip. The taste is clear but a bit thick. A bit like a raw sake? Average taste of Shizuoka sake. There is nothing outstanding about it, but it has a good balance. Ideal for eating. Safe and stable. This brewery brews ALL junmai sake without alkaloids. Incidentally, Kunimei also has a sake named "Tsukiryoshi". Rating 3.6 (out of 5.0) 20220806

Commemorative sake for the 10-year anniversary of the Shizuoka brewery's revival. The rice polishing ratio seems to be daiginjo specs, but the description is jungin and the price is reasonable. It is a beautiful sake with little bitterness. The first Kihei I tried, Omachi, was very good, but the Junmai I tried next was a little different from what I expected. This one is delicious 😋. The snack was heshiko, which I bought on a trip to Fukui and forgot about. It was so salty.

I went to the Oyama "Omachi and Local Sake Festival". It was very crowded with people. There, I participated in an event where you can taste Omachi sake from all over Japan, and tasted Omachi from 61 different breweries. 😉 ... Among them, I selected a few that I thought were delicious, though they were my personal favorites. Here is the first bottle. I was a little surprised that it was related to Heiki Shuzo in Okayama, but I was convinced that it had the qualities to enhance the deliciousness of Omachi. It has a soft and beautiful mouthfeel, with a subtle sweetness and umami that gradually spreads in the mouth, and a clean aftertaste that goes down the throat nicely. It has a clean and comfortable image. It seems to go well with anything as a food sake. It is a good sake to drink with anything as a food sake 😁. Polishing ratio: 60

We drank an evening glass of Shizuoka beer and fresh wasabi, which we had gotten on our Izu trip on Saturday and Sunday. The fresh wasabi was bought at a wasabi store near Joren no Taki waterfall. The aroma of freshly rubbed wasabi is irresistible. Serve with chilled tofu or fish cakes. Izu has wonderful nature and hot springs, but there is also something about the atmosphere that makes you feel like you are on a trip. Amagi crossing from Joren no Taki Waterfall. It is the world of Sayuri Ishikawa's "Amagi koshi" and Yasunari Kawabata's "Izu no Odoriko". I love both of them👍. I got this Kihei Junmai Sake at the Joren no Taki waterfall store. It is from the Shizuoka brewery of Kihei in Okayama. Classical sake, with the softness and freshness of Shizuoka sake, but, well, classical. I read Kawabata Yasunari's Izu no Odoriko (The Dancing Girl of Izu) again at the inn after this Izu trip to Amagi Koshi, and it was great 😌.

I bought this sake to commemorate my visit to Shizuoka (300ml)! It is a very refreshing sake with no habits. It has a slight sweetness! The taste is very similar to that of Miyagi sake! It can be served warm.
