Next is a local sake from Ofunato.
This sake is inspired by the "Miracle Pine Tree" in the neighboring town of Rikuzentakata.
A classic sake with just the right amount of sweetness and umami from the rice. It might be good warmed up.

The characteristic of the sake here is dusty and mellow.
I like this feeling.
I have been supporting them since after the reconstruction.
I recommend it.

I bought it when I heard it was on the waiting list at the Nagoya T department store. It was easy to drink and I loved it. The Kagaya-supervised Noto chawanmushi (steamed rice with crab innards) was delicious...perfect for tonight!

I was allowed to try a junmai ginjo that I had previously enjoyed.

As before, the finish was sweet but rather refreshing. When I asked if they had any of this sake on tap, they told me that it would be available after noon on Saturdays, so I might want to try that.
Honjozo Hatsufune Kuradashi Hatsufune
It has a dark sweetness and a slightly classical atmosphere, but is easy to drink. I had a somewhat perverted, matured and drunken Honjozo Genshu before, but not this time, and they said they mature the Hatsufune for a year and a half. This sake is said to be for year-end sales.
I think I'll go sample the raw sake and if I like it, I'll buy it.

Hatsusen Hatsusake Tank Shinmai-brewed Honjozo Nama-genshu
The brewery is located in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture.
The first sake of 2017.
Sake sold by reservation only in December.
Sake that spares the passing year and celebrates the coming year.
