Today was a rare day to go out for a drink. I went out to downtown Shizuoka to meet people. Muan is an eggplant group, so the food is good 😋 This restaurant has a good selection of local sakes.
I have actually not had many sakes from Shizuoka, and I was served one of the most rare ones I have ever had.
It is very light on the palate and even a little sweetness makes it stand out well. The aroma is also elegant.
We had it with dengaku, dashimaki egg and sashimi.
Only 3 more days until GW. No work today 😭
Well, today's side dish is teriyaki yellowtail. Delicious looking yellowtail was cheap over the weekend 🐟.
I chose Koyogi, which has a dry image, because I thought it would go well with the stock in the fridge .
Unlike the image, it has a sour taste. It's not sweet, and the taste is not strong, so it's not bad to drink with side dishes.
This is the last year for Honorifuji, isn't it? I heard they are going to improve the breed next year or something...
This time it is Soyogi, a local sake from Shizuoka Prefecture. I bought a bottle of Shizuoka Prefecture's local sake at a local specialty show! The alcohol content is 18%, which is high since it is an unfiltered, unpasteurized sake. The sake rice is Homare Fuji from Shizuoka Prefecture, which is a first for me, so I was very excited!
Now, open the bottle. The initial aroma is not that strong, but it is soft and fruity. The aroma of rice is very strong. The aroma of rice is different from that of Umeichirin, a local sake from Chiba, which I drank before.
It is lighter in the mouth than expected! It is so light that it is hard to believe that it is an unfiltered, unpasteurized sake. It is quite light, and you can feel the deliciousness of the rice. This is my first time drinking Homare Fuji, but it is really easy to drink. When you swallow it down the back of your throat, it feels a little dry, but it goes down smoothly. Very good!
I'm drinking it cold this time, but it's definitely good hot. Next time, I would like to try it hot.
This brewery is located in front of Kikugawa Station. It has a complex taste of sweetness and astringency, perhaps because it is freshly squeezed. Is this the taste of Eiyofuji?
Red Comet, a gift. It is made from 50% polished rice of Hokkaido's sake rice, Comet. It is easy to drink with the sweetness of the rice. I have the impression that Hokkaido sake rice is often used to make dry sake, but I like this one.
