At home. About 30 years ago, when I was in my first year of working, my senior took me to a sake party, and this was the first sake I tasted. Now it's sold in many different varieties, and I feel the times have changed. The taste is still the same, it is as easy to drink as water, and it is a delicious sake that reminds me of those days.

The last of the Ohigan parties was the first Kamizenjosui in a long time. I had an image of a more Showa-esque sake, but to my surprise, it really looked like water. It went well with a wide range of foods such as sashimi and Costco high rollers. In other words, it doesn't get in the way. It made me rethink my opinion a little bit. I think I need to update my taste buds by choosing something that doesn't look like a local sake sometimes.

Chilled Very light with a tart almost-Calpis style lemon to it. Weighty mouthfeel adds to that impression. On the rocks the water dilutes down both but it isn’t unpleasant. I think if this was effervescent it would be a nice alternative to an Aperol Spritz. Perfect for summer drinking 85/100

Polishing ratio 60 Alcohol content: 17 to 18 degrees Celsius Production date: March 2025 The aroma of koji malt is soft. It is clear and crisp with both dryness and umami. This sake is a brand I learned when I was still drinking sake only when it was recommended to me 💡 It had a white label, but this one has a very beautiful blue bottle. It was a gift from a friend, and although it was quite old, it was so delicious that we both finished it 😆.

Purchased at a local supermarket. It has a crisp, dry taste that doesn't linger, and is refreshing as if it goes right through you. The alcohol smell is a bit strong when drunk by itself, but it does not bother you if you drink it with a meal. It is a reasonable food sake that enhances both the flavor of the sake and the meal.

Today's local sake from Niigata Prefecture Shirotaki Shuzo's Kamizenjosui Hanami Sake Junmai Ginjo! The aroma is gorgeous! The taste is mellow and refreshing. It is delicious!

Purchased at 7-Eleven in Echigo-Yuzawa Sparkling, but the carbonation is soft and less stimulating. It has a sweet taste and is refreshing at the moment of drinking, followed by the sweetness of the rice. It is very easy to drink and gone in seconds! It is just like water!
