According to the liquor store I usually go to, the 300-day aged Hana-So-mi is a very rare one that is not available in quantity, and as usual, I am too weak for that kind of thing.
The first day I bought it, I felt it was too heavy and put it away in the fridge, thinking it would be hard to drink in summer....
And then...! After being served sake at a local shrine's summer festival, I went home and faced it again.
Huh? Delicious😊.
The balance of umami and spiciness is better, as if the heavy feeling was a lie! I finished the drink with a gulp.
I don't know if it's my physical condition or if the sake quality improves the next day, but as long as it's good, it doesn't matter. Thank you very much for your kindness 🍶.
First trip to Kyushu!
Oita Beppu Onsen. The weather was hot and sunny, thanks to a sunny man!
After visiting hell, we went to Izakaya Tsuzaka for local sake.
We walked along the seaside, so we had beer for now! We started with a beer, followed by a set of 3 sake from the Daichi Sake Brewery and a set of 3 sake from the Hanashoimi sake brewery!

I gave the other bottle I bought, a special junmai, to my parents. ✌️
This brand has flowers on it🌸 Junmai Ginjo has lilies on it.
The color is clear and the aroma is quite ginjo.
The taste is fruity, sweet and slightly gassy.
The sweetness is more like honey than fruit, perhaps due to the label.
It is like Sentori Mukonin without the sweetness and juiciness.
It is a little less punchy than my strike zone!
It's a type I haven't encountered very often before, but it's delicious!
I had it with a lightly seasoned white soup and chicken meat....

Souvenir Sake from Beppu Trip No. 5
This is the last souvenir sake from my trip to Beppu.
As in my previous post, I bought it at the Tokiwa Beppu store.
I drank it with my family as a souvenir after returning to my parents' home in Osaka.
The flower on the label is a dahlia. The language of flowers is "Brilliant, Grateful".
It has a very gorgeous and sweet aroma.
When I drank it, I found it to be slightly acidic. Slightly dry.
It might be better as a cold sake.
The aftertaste is short.
Souvenir Sake from Beppu Trip #4
As in my previous post, I bought this at the Tokiwa Beppu store.
The winter Hana-Soami I drank yesterday is also an autumn/winter limited edition. I also bought another bottle of Hanayomi, and that concludes the souvenir sakes from my trip to Beppu.
The flower on the label is a camellia. The language of flowers is "unpretentious elegance.
At room temperature.
Not much aroma.
Compared to the Junmai we drank yesterday, it is lighter in the mouthfeel and more acidic. The spiciness is a little stronger.
Next, we warmed it to lukewarm.
It has a calm taste and is good with food.
It is said to go well with Chinese dishes and dark foods. I drank it with spicy stir-fried vegetables, and the umami and acidity went very well together.
