The third cup of sake at Nekko-ya 😁.
Today's Oroku, which we compared to the other two, was "Kei", which also had a slightly unique aroma 😊.
The third one is "Saba no Shokara (salted mackerel)" which seems to be a common dish in Shimane ‼️
The owner offered to serve me some sake to go with it since I only ordered sake, but since I can't eat fish, my wife decided to have it 😅.
I can't eat fish, so my wife decided to have it 😅.
Junmai Kei
Manufactured in October 2025
When I went to Tochigi, I inadvertently(?) found a liquor store that sold Oroku. I found a liquor store that sold Oroku, so I bought it: ✌️
The bitterness comes at first, then the sweetness comes later.
It goes well with blue cheese.
My husband loved this sake 😊.
I found a lot of different years of production on the shelf,
I wonder if the taste is different if you compare them.
Good evening, Mihopanda!
Welcome to Mekada, a place we often visit too 🤗You will see our Oroku related products right at the entrance ‼️ I don't know if it's inadvertent or not 😄Please come again 👋.
Oroku "Kei" Nigori 55
Rating 4.4-4.5
Rice used: Yamadanishiki from Higashiizumo Town, Polishing ratio 55%, Alcohol 15-16%.
The overall impression is firm, with ample rice flavor. The acidity is well balanced and the sake has a crisp quality that should be enjoyed during meals. It is cloudy and mellow, with a hint of sweetness and umami.
Oroku Kei Junmai Namaizume
Rating 4.4
Rice used: Yamadanishiki 55% polished rice, Alcohol 15.5
This delicate sake is as smooth and fresh as its label, reminiscent of a mountain stream. The alcohol content is low (15%) among Ohroku sake, and the beautiful acidity complements the food. The back of the label depicts a "landlocked salmon" swimming in a mountain stream.
This was the only photo I have left of how many cups this was. I don't remember what it tasted like, but I heard that the brewery is concerned with blending and not filtering. I had had it under the brand name of Oroku. Let's drink it again. It was a fun time for the six of us.
It's been a long time since I've seen Wangrok-sama😊.
The last time I drank it was with nigori sake.
I wanted to drink it with Japanese food in autumn, so I chose the unfiltered one.
But I failed to match it with autumnal Japanese food 😅
I tried it with oden (Japanese stew) 😊.
First sip.
The aroma of koji leaves an impression.
It's not cloudy, so it doesn't have a milky feeling.
I can taste the cleanness of the water.
There is a slight gassy feeling.
No fruity or sweetness.
But there is no spicy bitterness characteristic of alcohol.
The gaseous feeling is not strong, but it is similar to the impression one gets when drinking carbonated water.
It is a unique sake.
Good morning, Rurun 😃.
I often see Kei-san 🤔 but I have never had it yet 🥲It sure looks like it would go well with Japanese food!
I'd like to feel the one and only 😙.
Dear Jay & Nobby, howdy 😊!
Mr. Cree, I see you around a lot!
I think it's partly because I'm uninformed.
I can't think of anything else in the same vein 😅.
If you get a chance, please drink it and let me know what you think 😊.
First 5 stars in the King's Reward series.
Mild aroma with a graininess.
Fresh and smooth on the palate, with a rounded, mellow rice flavor and sweetness that spreads out, but is finally tightened up by the acidity.
