The two bottles of sake I bought at the liquor store ran out last night, so I got a relay at the convenience store today. I had it cold. The Niigata junmai dry sake was stable and tasty, and held up beautifully for the middle part of the week. This will be a solid connection to the weekend closer.

Delicious! Very cloudy!
The lid is screwed on so you can take it home even if you can't finish it!

Purchased at Daily Yamazaki in Niigata Prefecture. Tastes just like the color of rice and its appearance. Sake with a firm alcohol taste and the strength of rice.

After the daiginjo, I chose junmai sake.
It is not too glamorous, not a daiginjo or a ginjo. The taste is good.
It was an easy-drinking sake with a clear, slightly acidic taste (as written on the back) that didn't interfere with the food.
I was happy to chill it since I bought my own refrigerator, but it seems to be good at room temperature.
It was also double circled on the back.
About 78/100 for my taste.

The sweet and sour taste is more pronounced and easier to drink when well chilled.
Serve with grilled chicken hearts, chestnuts, deep-fried tofu and simmered komatsuna greens.
It is a casual sake with a refreshing sweet and sour taste. I bought a bottle at the Niigata prefecture antenna store in KITTE Osaka at my son's request. It has a moderate alcohol content of 8%, a refreshing aftertaste, and a junmai (65% polished rice) ratio, which is good, of course, for a major Niigata sake brewer. However, there are many inexpensive chu-hi and happoshu available on the market, so I think it would be tough to compete with them...
