Sake unearthed during a kitchen cleanup.
It had been neglected for about two years.
Today we will drink Niigata Prefecture's sake.
This is the main brand of Echigo Sakura Sake Brewery in Agano City.
Purchased at a supermarket in Takayama City.
The aroma is a pineapple type ginjo aroma.
The palate is full of rice flavor, weak acidity, and weak bitterness, followed by a rush of sweetness.
The sake is refreshing and easy to drink.
We are thankful to have found a good sake.
I was attracted to this sake by the claim that it won the highest gold medal at the "Best Sake in a Wine Glass Awards", which I don't know where it is held, so I picked it up and tasted it in a whiskey tasting glass, and it has a clean and refreshing quality like a daiginjo, a gorgeous but not too strong gentle ginjo aroma, and a sweet but not dry taste. The mild acidity is combined with the umami of the rice, and the bitterness is accompanied by a complex flavor. It tastes like a carefully crafted sake without being trendy.
I bought sushi at the supermarket, so I splurged and bought a bottle of Junmai Daiginjo with it (cheap, but wow!)!
As expected from a rice polishing ratio of 45%, it was delicious! It is round and has a good balance of umami and sweetness.
I knew Niigata was good!
Purchased at Okay supermarket for 535 yen (excluding tax)
Slight aroma when opening the bottle, but
Little depth of flavor.
Tried heating it up to lukewarm and then to hot.
Not much thickness.
I'd rather drink a packaged sake in the same price range.
I'd rather have a packaged sake in the same price range.
Echigo-zakura Hiyahi Oroshi Junmai Ginjo-Ginjo-Harashi-Shu, Limited Edition🍶.
This sake is made from 100% Yamadanishiki and was produced in August this year.
I felt the weight of alcohol as I gulped it down, but the fresh fruitiness of the flavor was pleasant.
This sake has a slightly floral aroma, a good balance of sweetness and acidity, and plenty of umami.
It is a very mild sake with a high degree of perfection that you will never get tired of drinking.
A four-pack of this sake costs less than 1,000 yen, so it's a very reasonable price.
No, it is a delicious sake.
The entrée was garlic steak with tuna tail.
Very tasty!
