Maruta Unfiltered Nama Sake. Nicknamed "Pink Maruda."
It has the fruity taste unique to nama-shu, the spiciness unique to Maruta, the drinkability unique to nama-shu, and the bitterness unique to new sake. It is an easy-drinking sake, yet very drinkable.
This Sake has a full mouth feel with a strong flavor of cedar and apple. It is also dry with a lingering finish.
This is a great with strong flavored foods like kakuni.
I found Maruta at a nearby liquor store.
I'm from Hokkaido, so I tend to buy local sake when I can find it.
It tasted great, even if you don't think it's local or anything.
A small trip to the Kobayashi Shuzo brewery. We had a cold sake at a buckwheat noodle shop on the premises. Luckily, it was a kuchikiri.
It was cool and refreshing. It goes well with soba.
