It is somewhat dry and crisp, and does not have the odd habit of being too alcoholic, as is often the case with honjozo sake. However, there is no sense of umami, and for better or worse, it is a clear and refreshing sake with no distinctive characteristics. It is a type of sake that complements food by not asserting itself.

Drank at a hotel during a family vacation in December. I compared it with other sakes of the same lineage, and it seems to be a good cosmetic drink.
Miwazakura is the only local sake available at a popular teppanyaki hormone restaurant in Hiroshima. The moment it hits the palate, it has a fresh, muscat-like aroma. It is a dry sake that finishes nicely. It is not as floral as it sounds, but it is characterized by an intense freshness that flows down the throat.
