Very slight tingling. Calm aroma. Soft taste in the mouth. And umami. It is recommended to be served cold, but when heated up, the aroma of rice stands out and it is extremely delicious.
I was told that this sake was voted the best everyday sake in Japan by dancyu. I couldn't find it in my stock of the March issue of dancyu, which is a shame because I've been an otaku for a long time.
Sake brewery tour across Shizuoka Prefecture (bullet train).
I bought a bottle at Aoshima Sake Shop across the street from the brewery. The brothers are the grandfathers of the brewery, which used to be owned by the same company. They are now a separate company and sell other companies' products, but Kikusen is purchased directly from the production area, not through a wholesaler.
