Junmai Daiginjo from Sudo Honke in Ibaraki Prefecture, which was founded in the Heian period and is said to be the oldest junmai daiginjo in Japan. It has a more complex graininess and umami, different from the fruity aroma and beautiful sweetness that one might imagine from a modern junmai daiginjo. Perhaps this is the kind of sake that Japanese people used to enjoy in the past.

Thank you for having it! Yamazakura Momo Junmai Daiginjo! I bought this sake from the Sudoh family, which is said to be the oldest sake brewery in Japan, and it is one of the representative brands of the Sudoh family. I expected a gorgeous taste from Yusura, but I found it to be a sake for professionals with a complex overall taste, with a firm graininess on the attack, a slightly limp sweetness from the rice, and a slightly strong acidity and bitterness in the aftertaste.

A brand I had never heard of before It seems to be the first brewery in Japan to produce sake. There is no sweetness at all. It has a clean, round, watery dry taste. It has a fruity taste. I can't think of anything else like it. Delicious!

Rice polishing 40 The aroma is gorgeous, but the taste is clean and dry. As the temperature rises, the taste gradually becomes more intense, but it is still very refreshing. I hear it doesn't give you a hangover.

Last 3 drinks❗️ I was surprised to find Michiko Sakura for 4,400 yen last time. This time there was Yusara which cost 3,000 yen 🤣. This one is also 300 yen, god 🤣. I know it's expensive, so Sekoi-Manachi, aka Sekoi-Chi, of course chose this sake ☝️. The aroma is typical of the Sudo sake brewery, with a deep aroma that somehow gives a sense of maturity. Beautiful mouthfeel 🥺. The aroma is rounded, sweet and acidic, like a matured sake, and it goes down your throat as if nothing happened 😭. Very clean, or worse, water that tastes a bit like something 🤣. Well, it's a very beautiful sake. But if this is the case, Go-no-Homare might be enough for me ‼️ but Go-no-Homare is also 2000 yen for 4 gou 😭. It's not good with snacks, it's a stand alone drink ❗️.

Yamazakura Momo Junmai Daiginjo-shu Unfiltered Nama-zu Traditional old-fashioned honjikomi (15-16%), 40%. 720ml 3000yen Purchased at Sudo Honke in Ibaraki Prefecture, which Rokkaku-san also visited. The garden is magnificent and gives the impression of a historical brewery. The name of this sake is "Yusura," which means "mountain cherry peach. It is made from Kame-no-o Koshihikari rice produced locally in Kasama City. The first sip after opening the bottle at home. It is a draft sake, but there is no gas. It has no sweetness or umami, and for a moment you think it has no taste. The acidity is also low. It has a refreshing taste with lemon-like acidity. It is light but not too spicy. The sake seems to be hard. I am not sure about the depth of flavor. My father said it was surprisingly good sake when he had a sake party 10 years ago, but his reaction was not so subtle. It is a clear sake that does not interfere with food, so I thought it would be a good match for sashimi. The price is expensive at 3,000 yen for 720ml. The website says it will "wow sake connoisseurs. I am not quite there yet. Rating 3.2 (out of 5.0) 20220316

It has a creamy bread-like aroma mixed with the aroma of rice and a strong presence. The taste is deep and robust, and it seems to go well with strong flavored dishes and high fat dishes. It is highly fragrant, has a good finish, and disappears quickly.
