It was a delicious sake with a good sharpness of bitterness and acidity.
This is a sparkling sake from the Sanran brand of the Tonoike Shuzo brewery in Mashiko City, Tochigi Prefecture! The use of white malted rice gives this sake a sparkling taste and a refreshing acidity and aroma like white wine, which spreads in the mouth! Finally, you feel the sake. It has won the gold medal at the Delicious Sake in a Glass of Wine Award 2025. It has become a regular summer event to have coffee and amazake soft drink at the Sotaike Sake Brewery Cafe and buy some as a souvenir.â

It is pleasantly sweet and sour. A little bit of a schwarziness. Dry aftertaste. On the rocks 🧊 increases the spiciness, but it is easy to drink. Has a heavy back. Heating up ♨️ increases both sweetness and spiciness. Good for simmered flounder. My wife says it doesn't feel sweet on the tongue, but sweet on the upper jaw 😅 nice acidity is pleasant. It is also good with Shiho bamboo from Kochi 🎋 which is rare in autumn 👍Thanks for the treat 🙏.
