We had a lot of fun at Tochigi Sake Festa ‼️. 😙We drank a lot of Japanese sake 😅The next day, Sunday night, we decided to have beer 🍺 but we drank it right away 😙While we were thinking what to do, Nobby made a great suggestion that we have mini whiskey... but it was a mini whiskey 🥃... but it ran out too soon 🙂! But since it was a mini one 🙂 it too ran out quickly 🥲 and we had another family meeting! Should we have tea 🍵 or 🤔?
So we opened a bottle of Brilliant ‼️
This is a bottle we bought at the store during our GW visit to Sotaike Sake Brewery👍This is served with a sake cup my daughter bought for us at that time 🥹.
I first drank it cold, but I decided it would be better warmed up, so I quickly made love to it in Yumbei Yokocho.
I love it when I sip it! It's really good warmed up, isn't it?
Conversation with the store owner when we tasted this one at Sotaike on GW
Uncle: You've never had heated sake before, have you?
Nobby: No, no, I like heated sake!
Uncle: Wow, you can't see it!
Nobby: It's delicious...the sharpness from the acidity is nice!
Uncle: What? You know your stuff! You're a pro!
I'm not a pro, but I'm a good drinker 😆.
Tochigi love 🥰 that heated sake is also good this time of year!
Good evening, Jay & Nobby. Great initiative ♨️ to warm up sake in summer too! I just laughed at the beer -> highball -> heated sake 🤣Noby you like heated sake - I feel close to you💕.
Good morning, Jay & Nobby 😀.
No, no, I think you two are professionals by now 😇.
I'm a bit of a cold drinker this time of year, so I don't choose sakes that would go well with heated sake 🤣.
Good morning, Jay & Nobby!
Heated sake in the summer time is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!
I'm so jealous of your highball too, Yamazaki 12yr and Macallan, too extravagant 😳😳.
Good morning, Jay & Nobby 🐥.
I can't believe you could think of tea and sake 😆and warmed up 🤣Oh well! So you had to think about warm tea 😊👍👍It's a pro to have the sake warmed right away ✨✨.
Good evening, Hirupeco 😃.
I'm sorry to hear that you end up drinking 🍶! I know 😁 heated sake in summer is also good 🍶😋I'd love to join you again and drink heated sake slowly 🤗.
Good evening, Wakata!
Neither of us had any idea that we were going to have tea 😅 just to make sure 🤣When we chose this sake, it was inevitable that it would be heated 🤗.
Satou, good evening 😃
☀️ summer heating 🍶It was a new experience for me 🤗I didn't care about it at all since it was a gift, but it was indeed a good highball 😳I should have tasted it more 😅.
Good evening, Pon 😀
I was wondering which one of us would like to have a cup of tea or sake first. I said "tea", but it was a close call as to which one of us would say sake 🍶 first 🤗The warmed sake was delicious 😋Noby's speed of preparation is that of a master 🤣.
Good evening, Hakata Sabaski 😃.
As soon as I put my mouth on the beer 🍺, I think deep down I saw the heated sake 🍶 goal 😆Nonbee Yokocho! Please try it before winter 👋
Mr. Jay & Mrs. Nobby
Good morning â
Nice conversation with the waiter 😁Noby, you seem to be an elegant cold sake drinker, don't you? I sometimes want to drink heated sake even in early summer! Only in an air-conditioned room though 🤣.
Good evening Jay & Nobby 😃.
The world of heated sake is one we haven't reached yet, but it's delicious: ❣️
I hope to get more experience with sake and enter the world of heated sake😃.
Hi Jay & Nobby!
My dad happened to be in Utsunomiya on the day of the Tochigi Sake Festa, but he didn't notice the event 😅.
He was disappointed when he got back home 😁.
Good morning, Jive 😃.
What a surprise! We could have met you at the event if your father had told us ⁉️ in Utsunomiya 😊Jive, please come and visit us 👋.
Toast Festa with Tochigi's Local Sake🤗②
29 breweries (1 sake from each brewery), craft beer, various dishes, etc.
Slightly apple, pear, and apricot flavors.
The aftertaste is umami and sharp.
I came on a trip to Nikko.
Today we will enjoy nature such as Kegon Falls.
You can also enjoy hot springs.
The aroma is crisp, discreet, and sharp.
It is a very light and dry wine with a tangy taste.
It is quite refreshing.
A gift from the company.
I was not very good at Yamahai,
I was betrayed in a good way.
It has a harmony of sweetness like ripe persimmon and gasiness. It is absurdly delicious.
I will drink it with a plate of sashimi tonight 🍶.
Good evening, Abe from Fukaya 😃.
The deliciousness of the brilliantly delicious food made my dislike of it fly away 🤗But how many servings of the magnificent sashimi platter 🤩⁉️
Mr. Jay & Ms. Nobby
Good evening 🌙
I bought the sashimi individually and arranged it at home 🐟.
So it's hard to say how many servings it is, but I'd say it's enough for 4 family members 😁I'd say it's enough for 5-6 people at an izakaya 💡.
I've been curious about the "Good Sake Market" 🍶.
There were not only local sake from various regions, but also a lot of delicious food, and I was excited from start to finish 🎵✨.
First up was Tochigi's "Sanbana" ✨!
Subdued aroma ✨
Clear and watery 😲😲.
Gentle and dry with a good flavor 😁.
I recently bought this limited edition sake directly from the brewery at the Sotaike Sake Brewery in Mashiko Town.
Since I was impressed by the tasting and it was described as "good with wild vegetables," I decided to take it as a souvenir when I went back to my home town.
It is quite a good sake with a good balance of lightness and flavor and a beautiful acidity.
It was a great conversation starter, not only with wild vegetables, but also at a country table.
Good evening, Mr. Hiraccio 😃.
Yesterday my family of 4 walked a lot from Mashiko Pottery Market to Sotaike 💦 we enjoyed tasting 🤗Noby was called a critic 😆.
Good evening Jay & Nobby😊.
It's quite a walk from the center of Mashiko pottery market to Mr. Sotaike😅.
I'm sure the staff will be excited when you respond with accurate feedback on the tasting👍.
During the first half of GW, I went to the Mashiko pottery market in Tochigi Prefecture.
There were so many people, so many people, so many people.
I wonder how many tens of thousands of people are there.
(I was so excited.)
On the way back from the pottery market, we went to Tonoike Sake Brewery.
It's been 5 years since I've been here.
There was also a brand called Mashiko, and I couldn't decide which one to choose, so I decided on this one ^ ^.
Good sharpness, good aroma, and yes, delicious.
Good evening, c.george 😃
Mashiko Pottery Market - Sotouike-san ‼️ we are going tomorrow morning 🤗I didn't know it was that crowded 😳Mainly Sotouike-san though 😆.
It has a subtle rice sweetness and a refreshing acidity.
The acidity increases when the sake is heated, but there is an alcoholic aroma, which is both a good thing and vice versa.
Today
One-day trip to Tochigi with my wife's parents and her sister's family.
Mashiko was crowded during the GW pottery market, so we decided to forgo the market and visit a sake brewery.
We visited a sake brewery that we had already had a taste of before,
The sake brewery was a brewery that I had already had a drink, but it had facilities to accommodate tourists, including a store.
I felt a sense of déjà vu, but I was convinced that it was because I had seen it on Shinshin SY's post just recently.
Mashiko-yaki cups for 300 yen.
Mashiko-ware sweet-and-sour pickles in a small bowl (daikon radish and carrots are from Mashiko Town), bought at a roadside station.
Lunch was curry with pork cutlet at Chitose, a pork cutlet restaurant in Mashiko. It was quite hearty 😋.
Hiraccio-san, good morning 😃I thought I had seen that scene and photo before. I recommend this Honjozo for hot sake 🍶I was also wondering about the 300 yen Masuko ware boar cup.
Good morning, Mr. Hiraccio 😃!
Nice day trip with your family to Tochigi 🤗I knew Mashiko pottery market would be crowded in GW 😑.
We too have a choice of Sotaike Sake Brewery 😆 we will be there somewhere this week 😙.
Good morning, Shinshin SY 😊.
Preliminary study? Thanks for the déjà vu, I was entertained by it: ❗️
I bought this Honjozo because it was served heated at the tasting corner and looked good.
Good morning, Jay & Nobby 😊.
The pottery market was crowded in the morning. 😅
This is the place to go slowly when it's not an event.
Sonoike Sake Brewery was good.
Please enjoy.
Hiraccio, here too😄
Sotaike Sake Brewery is good... I visited a few years ago and was allowed to sample free and paid tasting 😋 and pickle tasting while snacking on it 🤣.
Mashiko ware gugummies for 300 yen are also good 😉👍
Good morning, Tsubu 😊.
Mr. Sotaike is a good 👍.
There are exhibits to visit, photo spots to take pictures, a store, and a tasting area.
There is also a wide range of brands brewed like Nozomu (not sold at the brewery).
The last of the paid tasting was the Megumi of the Township
Jungin, we were able to experience both the deliciousness of rice and the fruity taste!
Before the main event, we had a light party!
We tried two delicious sakes from the Sotaike Brewery and brought in our two favorites 🍶🍶!
Now for the real thing 🏨!

I can't describe the difference between the two, but it's a fruity sake that I like!
Between Sotaike Sake Brewery and Kitayama Station, there was a strawberry picking facility!
I had been here with my family a few years ago!
I bought some Tochiaicho and Skyberry strawberries at this store because I was going to be busy on the way back home!
At the end of the meeting, my friend also gave me two packs of her own Tochiai strawberries, so I ended up with four packs!
I am full of strawberries. 🍓🍓🍓🍓

This is delicious 😋!
The perfect toast!
In the end, I ended up with a bottle of this ho ho ho and a bottle of mashiko!
Now, let's head back to Kita-Maoka from Kitayama to see how many sake lovers are here 🚃.

This sake has a mellow rice flavor and a pleasant acidity that makes it crisp and refreshing.
Ingredients: rice (domestic), rice malt (domestic), brewers' alcohol
Rice polishing ratio: 65

After the annual strawberry picking, I stopped by the sake brewery to buy some.
It is a nigori sake that needs to be refrigerated.
The carbonation is refreshing. Be careful not to drink too much as you can drink as much as you want!
