I invited my wife, who is not a drinker, to go to Mashiko to have soft serve ice cream with sakekasu (sake lees).
After stopping at a roadside station and looking at Mashiko pottery, we finally went to our main destination, Sonoike Sake Brewery, where we were allowed to taste the sake lees soft serve ice cream and bought two coins to compare.
The aroma was apple, very refreshing, like a white wine, though I don't know anything about wine.
I didn't really like it, so I just bought sakekasu and went home.
Since I went to visit Tochigi Prefecture, I went to a sake brewery in that prefecture, which is becoming a regular part of my recent trips.
This time we visited Sotaike Sake Brewery, which we could visit on our way to Ashikaga Flower Park.
We bought a bottle of Junmai-shu Nama Nigorozake and a bottle of Dobrok. After returning home, I immediately enjoy the Junmai-shu Nigorizake. It has a cute package, but it's not sweet at all and has a subtle, interestingly shwashy taste. Because it is not sweet, it surprisingly does not interfere with the meal.
My wife says it tastes like a highball.

I just recently got into sake and every time I drink different kinds I am amazed at the difference in taste.
I've heard that Nozomu is very tasty too. I'll give it a try when I come across it 😆✨.
Purchased after tasting it at a sake brewery in Mashiko. When I drank it in a boar cup at the brewery, it seemed hard and dry, but when I drank it in a wine glass, it was quite juicy. Delicious.
I brought this because of the cute bunny on the label 🍶 although I have the impression that Tsanbana is more well known in Japan 🤔.
When I opened the bottle, I was excited to see the fine bubbles rising from the well-chilled bottle 🤤It was not enough to be automatically stirred, so I started with the supernatant. ☺️ The top aroma is not high, but it gives a fruity impression. When I put it in my mouth, I felt sweetness and acidity like white wine, and the gasiness of the bubbles stimulated my mouth 😋When I mixed in the lees, the mouthfeel became mellow and the impression of the bubbles became thicker and thicker with a nice bitter taste that made me drink more and more 😋I was surprised that I finished the 4 gou bottle😳Is this what you call the love for Tochigi 🥰.

In the past, I used to swear by sake that it would make me delirious when I drank it, but now I find it to be a delicious sake with a slightly gorgeous aroma and no unpleasant taste.

I had it cold on New Year's Eve when I went home to my parents' house.

The aroma was refreshing.
It has a spicy, chili-chili-chili-chili-chili-chili-chili taste. It has a sweet taste like sugar cane and the richness and moistness of rice, making it a standard sake for a meal!
The sweetness becomes more petite when heated up, but I enjoyed it with fried tofu!
I'll be back again next year!
