My daughter came to visit me for a 3-day weekend, so I brought home a bottle of Shindo Shuzo's Gazanryu Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Nama at my favorite liquor store in Mizonokuchi. I am looking forward to drinking it with my daughter.
Today is Ryoma Sakamoto's birthday and the day of his death. (Though not according to today's calendar.) Since horse mackerel, yellowtail, and squid were available, we removed the spines and served them as sashimi. The Gazanryu was so fresh and aromatic that it was hard to believe that it was opened 23 days ago. In the refrigerator, there are 5 open bottles and 5 unopened bottles. I'm getting worried about how to secure the space for new sake 😅 If I go to a liquor store, I'll buy it even if it's not new sake.
★★★★☆
I have drunk Gazanryu many times, but bought this pink bottle for its rarity.
The taste is more than I expected...
It's not like Gazanryu, but it's clean.
I gave it 4 because of its rarity!
Grilled cheese bought at a product exhibition in Hokkaido. So, I had it with Gazanryu, which I opened 12 days ago. I think it is made with new Yamagata yeast, but it seems to be more like "Koroh Daiginjo," which is the pride of Kumamoto. It has a calm fruity aroma and a hint of acidity. The lingering aftertaste slowly fades away. This change was a bit unexpected. I can't quit opening it for a day. The downside is that I've opened it a little too long, so I can't remember what it tasted like the last time 😅.
