梅津の生酛 Umetsu no kimoto 80 Polished only 20%! Bought at a shop that specialises in “natural” wines. Very strong flavour, quite unusual, more like a vin jaune or a Sherry than sake. Expensive (€32?) but a very nice treat and worth buying again. Alcohol: 20%

I had this a while ago so can’t be precise. I bought it in an Asian supermarket. Simple and refreshing, not very special. Easy to drink. Alcohol 14.5% SMV: 4.0 Acidity: 1.5 Price: about €15 I think

Excellent! Well, it should be at this price! Very refined, delicate and balanced. Alcohol 16% Polish rate 45% Bought at Atariya, Buitenveldert (Amsterdam).

An affordable, basic sake. There is really nothing wrong with it but it’s nothing to write home about. Much better than the nasty Ozeki sake from the US. Bought at Atariya, Buitenveldert (Amsterdam).

Nice, rounded flavour, a better quality than many of the sakes available here. Even though it’s a bit pricey (the bottle is only 630ml), it’s one I’ll buy again. SMV: +1 Acidity: 1.5 Rice polish: 50% Alcohol: 15.5%
