Sogen Sake Brewery, located in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is said to be the oldest sake brewery in Okunoto, and one of its two warehouses was damaged by a landslide during the Noto Peninsula Earthquake on January 1, 2024. This junmai-shu, brewed in 2023, was released after being heated through January 2024.
It has a yellowish hue. It is a junmai sake with an aromatic flavor and a hint of maturity, and can be enjoyed cold or warmed.
The word "reanimate" means that something that once waned gains strength and flourishes again. We hope you enjoy this sake while remembering how Sogen Sake Brewery overcame the damage caused by the Noto earthquake and torrential rain disaster.
