I did 10 kinds of sake tasting with my friend, part 1. Strong aroma and slightly thick texture 👅. Slightly thicker on the tongue with a strong aroma 👅. Smoother than the previous "Dry +5" 🙆.

Today is a weekday off. A change of pace on vacation is cooking, especially stewing, which requires a lot of time👍. I decided to make beef tendon radish stew. When beef tendon is cooked in a regular pot not a pressure cooker, it needs to be simmered for at least 2 hours until tender. I got Sumiyoshi no Issei at the sake section of Okachimachi Yoshiike. I tasted it with warmed sake at nearly 50°C. The flavor and acidity were gooey and wonderful👍.

Tonight, too, we will enjoy drinking with taro stew as a side dish. The first sake that comes to mind to go with taro stew is Taruhira and Sumiyoshi made by Taruhira Shuzo brewery in Yamagata Prefecture. There is a izakaya called "Taruhira" at the west exit of Kanda Station that serves Yamagata's local cuisine, and its specialty is taro stew, and the sake is Taruhira and Sumiyoshi. I may have been impressed by the atmosphere and the deliciousness of the food there. I looked back and found that I drank Taruhira and Sumiyoshi last year when I cooked taro stew 😅. Sake-no-wa is a good record of your drinking history and a good way to look back. Last year I drank Gin Sumiyoshi dry, +5. Tonight it's Gin Sumiyoshi very dry, +7. Heated to 40 degrees Celsius, it has a kind of peculiar aroma and flavor. It is delicious. It is a unique sake. People who are addicted to it will be addicted to it. I'm watching the live broadcast of the Japan Series. Orix's Wakatsuki hit a tying run❗️. Wakatsuki went to high school at Hanasaki-Tokuei in Saitama, Japan, where he was a strong-shouldered, hard-hitting catcher. I remember going to Utsunomiya Kiyohara Stadium to watch the 2013 spring Kanto tournament, against Kiriko-Gakuen of Kanagawa, where Hiroki Matsui pitched and was the talk of the town.

The darker color of this sake, which is said to be a "yamabuki" color, reminds one of traditional sake, but this sake has a strong astringent taste with a light acidity in the mouth. After swallowing, it had a light lingering bitterness, but with a nice sharpness.
