Drinking party at Koetsuan in Monzennaka-cho.
We brought our own drinks.
The aroma does not rise to the surface.
When you drink it, it has wine-like acidity and fruitiness.
The light entrance gives way to a strong umami flavor.
A fresh aroma in the mouth, a little bit like rum.
The alcohol aroma is not unpleasant.
It is also moderately sharp.
It goes well with fatty sashimi.

田中酒造久蔵翁 純米吟醸 原酒

This is the second sake from back home.
This one is a local brand using a rare rice called "Akagebyo" from Otaru, Kitahiroshima (the city where Escondido's Escon Field is located).
The sake has a nice ginjo aroma and sweetness with a hint of alcohol!
From an out-of-towner's point of view, this is a hidden sake brewery, but the taste is as good as you would expect!

I bought a bottle of Rishiri Fuji Eisen at the ferry terminal.
The difference between Rishiri Fuji Eisen and cheap sake is that it is not too sweet.

This sake is also limited to Iwanai-machi, Hokkaido.
Since it is a daiginjo, we started with a cold sake.
It has a green apple aroma, and after a short time of extra cooling in the freezer, it has a clear mouthfeel.
It is easy to drink, but it is a little too good to drink in a hurry.
I think it is better to savor it slowly as a stand-alone sake than as a mealtime drink.

Limited edition sake from Iwanai-cho, Hokkaido. Sake rice is made from Iwanai-grown Comet.
It has a mild taste with a characteristic bitterness.
It is a versatile sake that can be drunk cold, at room temperature, or warmed (lukewarm).
I don't have the space to keep a bottle in the fridge at all times, so I drink most of it at room temperature or on the rocks.
I drink most of my sake at room temperature or on the rocks, but I definitely enjoy a small portion of chilled sake. Surprisingly, I found it tastes better at room temperature. On the rocks is a bit thin and unreliable.

It's a nice hot spring that warms you from the inside out 🐒.
