This year, as is customary this year, we went on a drinking spree while making the rounds to greet the in-laws 😁.
I wanted to greet them for the New Year, so I went to Shima & Coffee & Sake 🚶.
Takashi-san was there cleaning up for the collaboration event, so we kicked off the evening with an Octopus Wiener and a bottle of Black Label 🍺.
Now, let's drink! I went to the cellar and found a bottle that was rare for this time of the year, so I compared them 😋.
Date Seven Junmai Daiginjo Katsuyama Style Orihime Bottle
It has a cool, slightly pear-like rice aroma, a clean mouthfeel with a fruity flavor and a hint of sweetness that finishes with a punchy alcoholic aftertaste.
As you get used to drinking it, the impact fades and the fruity and umami flavors come through, making it easy to drink ✨.
Next is Katsuyama Shuzo's "Special Junmai Senkatsu Masamune".
This sake was a gift.
One of our business partners happened to serve sake at a drinking party after a certain meeting, and we had a lot of fun because he is also a sake lover! 😁
So the last time I went shopping there, I was given a bottle of this one! I was given a bottle of sake.
I immediately took a sip!
Oh, it has a good spread of rice flavor that is not too strong.
I wonder if it will go well with any ingredients.
It was delicious! 🙋
Elegant and gorgeous. Mixed aroma of various fruits. Fine strawberries. Mild and elegant astringent bitterness, alcoholiness that stands up to the aroma. Delicious 😋.
Sake is selected every year during M-1
This year it's Katsuyama Yamahey.
I'm a gambling gorilla every year because I pick a sake I've never had before, but it's pretty good.
Katsuyama has a much fruitier taste, but this one has just the right amount of fruity flavor.
After work, the first bottle was Katsuyama.
It has a strong image of a luxury sake, but it was a beautiful sake, slightly sweet and gentle, with no cloying taste. 🙆♂️
The bottle of the yellow-green one, I dared to drink it in August because August 7 is Tanabata in Hokkaido. It's a bit expensive...well, I guess it's the cost of the bottle.
