Sake from Shimane, and cheap, so I bought it on impulse. I bought it on impulse at Tokyu Food Show in Shibuya.
The aroma is a little bit sweet, but the flavor is strong.
It has a strong umami flavor. The acidity is a bit strong on the palate. The aftertaste is quite long!
Not too pungent, but not sweet either. It has an interesting taste!
Maybe it's a food sake. It's not too much of a distraction, but it's nice.
In the cold state, the aroma and mouthfeel have a slight spike of alcohol, but it is not so unpleasant, and the sweetness soon arrives. If anything, it has a unique sweetness and flavor similar to that of old sake.
When the sake is cooled down to about chilled temperature, the alcohol content is removed, and the unique sweetness, thickening, and faint koji (malted rice) taste that is similar to that of old sake are more and more noticeable.
The last day off of the year, Kaorin and I went walking in the Expo Park 😀.
And my walking partner today was Nihonkai Kankai... a sake I've never had before 😀.
Actually, a security guard at the facility where I work went on a trip to Izumo the other day and brought this as a souvenir 😀.
I wanted to let you know how it tasted before the end of the year, so I decided to bring it to you in a hurry, even though the Nigorinpic is still in progress 😇.
Today I paired it with Chinese side dishes and sea eel rice that I bought at Ikari supermarket. It was spicy but very refreshing, and it was the perfect sake for a meal that drained off the fatty parts nicely 😇.
I've never heard of this brewery before, but I'm glad to have such a chance to meet them 😀.
I'll have to thank them tomorrow at work 🙏.

Nihonkai Shuzo, a sake brewery in western Shimane Prefecture.
This sake seems dry and slightly sweet.
It could be enjoyed cold or lukewarm with a change in flavor. We found it to be a very flavorful sake.
