Very typical dry taste. It has plenty of umami, as Junmai sake should. It is also astringent and has almost no acidity. It mellows out when heated, but the spiciness and umami remain the same. It has the best balance as a Niigata dry junmai. It is a cup with a soft character, but it is considered to be for old men. Mr. Ota is from Tokushima He cried at the Joruri! My mother is from the southern part of Awaji Island, and she said that Joruri used to come to her garden and give her rice, and it really made her cry! And the restaurant in Tokushima was also wonderful!

When hiya (hottest sake), the bitterness is sharp, but when hot, the sharpness of the mouthfeel is the same, but the aftertaste is mellower, and the lingering aftertaste is smooth and sharp. It is not sweet for a sake called "sweet rain", if anything it is dry. I wonder if it means "rain for sake drinkers"?

It's pretty thick...maybe the name pulls it down, but it seems a bit sweet. It's an energy charge for the body and head that can't return to society after the summer break!

Full aromas of rice, fresh cheese like mozzarella our cream cheese, milk, sour cream. Lots of dairy and a certain acidic note. Some faint nuttiness accents the nose. Sweet and sour palate. Cream and yoghurt, some fresh nuts and cheese. Starts off quite thick, but has more of a dry finish and feel to the end. Interesting and not what I expected from a Niigata junmai, but it's decent. 3.25, but could be alright warm.
