I enjoyed Kikusen, a famous sake from Fukaya City in Saitama Prefecture. It's a limited edition gift from a celebrity 🥰✨I'm uploading it exclusively on Instagram ☃️.
Fukaya City is famous for its screws, but Kikusen is a gem that benefits from the fertile land of the northern tip of Saitama (almost Gunma) and the abundant Tone River water. The mossy taste and blockage have an illusion of being a negative factor at first glance, but thanks to Fukaya Negi, that heaviness is transformed into umami. It can truly be said that it is an asset of this region created by Eiichi Shibusawa.
By the way, we had corned beef with lettuce and mayonnaise as a snack.
Not a lot of acidity coming through.
The mouthfeel is clear, but the alcohol comes out later.
The aroma is not sweet and fruity, but more like a bran aroma.
I like it.
SHINKI Awa Tropical...Strong acidity with a tropical aroma. It is sweet and easy to drink.
Science brothers....quite light and unadulterated. Slightly sweet and easy for anyone to drink.
Kikuzen Shibori...fruity aroma like a banana. You can feel the umami in the midst of the miscellaneous flavors in this sake.
It has a taste and aroma that is not typical of Japanese sake. The deep taste and the freshness of firing is addictive.
We drank it in a flute glass (^_^)
Kikusen Honjozo Fukka-chan Cup
Takizawa Shuzo, located in my parents' home in Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture
For which I bought it when I returned home last year.
When can we go home this year...
Kikusen It was labeled as mellow, but I had it cold. It's definitely mellow, but it's great cold! It's not sticky, not alcoholic, not sweet, and yet it's mellow. Next time I'll have it hot!
Smells like green apples.
I bought it because it said.
18% alcohol by volume and 60% polishing ratio, Ginjo unpasteurized
Yes, it smells like green apples.
In the mouth, you get a sweet and sour taste, followed by the pungent taste of alcohol.
I don't think I'd like it.
It was a big-boned, dry, strong drink that I hadn't had in a while. It has a slightly high alcohol content of 18.
It's my own image, but I have the impression that many of the drinks in Saitama are dry like this one.
The taste softened as I continued to drink it, so maybe the temperature range shouldn't be too cold.
