Uozu Sake Brewery, Toyama: Hokuyo, Fukurohangi
Dark and smooth like sake.
It was recommended to me by a friend who said, "You can't find a Fukuro-hozuri for this price! I was recommended this sake, and I must say, it's a great price!
Lunch on the second day of the Hokuriku Support Tour after returning safely from Kuroyanagi Onsen. We visited Kawaga in Unazuki Onsen.
We had a light lunch in preparation for the evening. We each had a bowl of oden and a bowl of kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot), and then we compared three local Toyama sake brands.
Hokiyo, Tamagokyu, and Gen no Taki.
The aftertaste was strong, not my favorite, but we were cheering for Hokuriku.
💮.
Freshly opened and quite fizzy!
Personally, I like it very much.
It's fruity and refreshing!
Refreshing! Low alcohol content and easy to drink.
It's sweet, but not too strong! It's sweet, but not too rich!
It has few peculiarities and you can feel the delicious (sweet) taste of rice.
This is delicious 🤤.
It's the most affordable sake I've had since going Junmai-shu-only with a base of North Sea.
But it's usually delicious, cosy, and I'm totally fine with paying a little more for it, and if it's there, I'll ask for it.
15/20
This is my second submission for this brand.
It's well balanced and still delicious ❗️
They were at an event at Hanshin Department Store, so I went out of my way to buy some 😊.
We purchased this sake at a liquor store as the summer sake lineup was on sale!
The store staff recommended this junmai daiginjo as a good value for 1900 yen.
The aroma is mild, but in the mouth it has a gorgeous rice flavor, and the acidity and bitterness give it a sharp, habitual taste.
