Junmai Ginjo / Light and sweet 13% alcohol by volume 1,620 yen (tax not included) A low-alcohol sake with a sweet and sour taste, like candy apples, made by Tsunan Jozo, a sake brewery in Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture, known for its heavy snowfall. From the name, I imagined it would have a rich sweet taste, but after one sip, I found it to be light, refreshing and sweet. 3/5

Special Junmai-shu / Light, dry, 15% alcohol by volume JPY1,980 (tax not included) The good taste of water and rice nurtured by the land of Iwate is brought out to the maximum by the method of "Onko Chishin". It has a crisp and clean taste, but also has a full flavor of the rice. It is a slightly fizzy nigorizake packed with freshly squeezed water. Limited Winter Sake It's a carbonated nigorizake, which is a very different type of sake. I was a little nervous about what it would taste like, but when I tried it, it was easy to drink and delicious. Although it's a nigorizake, it's not too thick, and although it's slightly fizzy, it tastes like sake and is easy to drink even though it's dry. 3/5
