This is a souvenir from a colleague. Apparently, they went to Shimonoseki to experience sake blending. They said they made a blend of 4 kinds of sake: sweet, dry, umami, and fruity 🤔. This one is rich, umami, and slightly spicy. I see, my colleague who likes Hakkaisan would like this taste.

September 2024 Sakai Off-line Meeting Report 4📝. Next was Seki Musume, brought by Mr. and Mrs. Yasubey. As Mr. and Mrs. Yasube's hometown is Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi, they bought a local sake for us 🐡. It is soft on the palate and has a slight apple aroma 🍎. It has few peculiarities and I drank it in gulps 💡. I was surprised that the label didn't look like sake at first glance 👀 Thank you for bringing this in from Yamaguchi ✨.

Purchased at Costco as a countermeasure against claims of over-buying four-pack bottles in the household. The price was 1,698 yen for 1 shou. It has a safe taste that everyone can enjoy. It tastes best when heated. Puhah!

Kansai Sake-no-Wa Sakai Bring Your Own Off-line Meeting (4) The first bottle of sake brought by Yasube and Kaorin This sake was purchased at the brewery when they went back to their hometown. This sake is made by Shimonoseki Sake Brewery, which is known for its fugu (blowfish) fin sake. The main brand is Sekimusume. I've never had it, but I think it was in the Hanshin Department Store last year or the year before. The only other thing I know of is that Costco sells a bottle of Junmai Daiginjo. I heard that Sekimusume is a cheap sake, so they made this sake to get rid of that image. According to the official website, the rice is Yamadanishiki, but the milling ratio is 50%. There were several people who wanted to have a sake that I had never had before, especially Yasube-san, whose enthusiasm was overwhelming. It's refreshing, gorgeous, and fruity like an apple. It went really well with the puffer fish beef jerky that Yasube-san brought 😋. I wonder if anyone took pictures of the food this time? The LINE group is full of photos and videos of alcohol and hebereke🤣.

Yamaguchi Sake Festival 8 during my trip back to Shimonoseki This is a Junmai Daiginjo from Sekimusume that I purchased at the brewery when I went back home to Shimonoseki 😀 The Sekimusume I had seen before had a massive label like the one in the photo below left. The Sekimusume I had seen until now had a sturdy label like the one in the bottom left photo, but the Junmai Daiginjo I found at the brewery this time was the modern Sekimusume on the top left🤣. I wonder if there was such a cute modern lady in Shimonoseki 🤣. This sake had a very nice ginjo aroma 😀. The taste was beautiful and fruity, but not at all cloying, like fine water with a beautifully clean aftertaste 😀. I went to the sake tasting mock test for the sake diploma during the day today 😀. It's very hard to taste 6 kinds of sake in 30 minutes because there's no time to spare 😢. The result was 70 points😅. The passing score is more than 80 so it's difficult 🙅‍♂️

Hi Aladdin 😀 This was my first time to drink Shimonoseki sake, even though Shimonoseki is my hometown, so I guess it's not widely distributed 🤣. The teacher's critique told me that I should drink more because I don't have much experience with sake 😅.
