Kambara Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Raw Sake Takananishiki
An excellent Kambara brewed by Shimokoshi Shuzo of Homare Kirin using the traditional "Kanzukuri" method that has been handed down since the brewery's founding in 1883.
I found it at Nishikiya sake shop and bought it immediately.
It has a gorgeous aroma like a pear!
It's fresh and clean.

How can this be drunk at this price?
Thick shiitake mushrooms from Kobo in Nishi-Aizu with butter and soy sauce.

Like no sake I’ve ever tried before! Complex, smooth, dry. Very unique and delicious.

300 ml. 16.5% ABV. Imported to the USA by Vine Connections. Enjoyed chilled.
Musty, mushroomy notes on the nose, that follow through on the palate. Some alcohol on the back-end, but not much burn. Tastes more like a junmai than a JG.

Nosing : [ Cold ] - hints of sweet potato [ Hot ] Rich roasted sweet potato scent
Pallate : [ Cold ] Starts with sweet potato flavour throughout. Its like a baby imo-shochu [ Hot ] Strong roasted sweet potato that lingers and goes mellow.
Overview: Pretty good served chilled, but much preferred it served warm. Flavours are amplified, really flavourful, bold sweet potato. Was never amazed by warm sake, I always want it now [ Hot @55 celcius ]
