Finally, the moving mess is over, so today I went hiking with the wife for the first time in a long time 😀.
We woke up early and headed to Kashihara, Nara 😀.
From there, we walked along the Asuka Road in late autumn, visiting Takamatsuzuka Kofun Tomb, Tachibana Temple, Ishibutai Kofun Tomb, Okadera Temple, and Asukadera Temple 😀 It was just past noon, and we were getting hungry.
It was just past noon and I was getting hungry, so I went to a beautiful soba noodle shop in front of Asukadera Temple gate 😀.
When I asked for a drink in the afternoon, the owner recommended this drink as the best match for our Soba 😀.
I usually drink mostly rich sweet sake at home, but this sake is a light dry sake from Niigata 😀 I was fine with the dryness, but the sweetness was not enough for me.
I was fine with dry sake, but my wife, who loves sweet sake, said this sake would be fine...dry sake might be tasty too😅.
Maybe this sake has become an opportunity to broaden the range of our family's sake 😀.
Good evening, Mr. Yasube 😃.
Asuka road buffet with your wife! That's nice 🥰.
I'm sure you'll discover something new ‼️ with sake🍶 that you don't usually drink to go along with eating out 🤗.
The possibilities of sake🍶 are endless♾️😊.
Good morning, Yasbay 😃.
It's nice to hike 🥾 Asuka Road on a nice day: ❣️
And drinking sake during the day? I always rent a car when I go to Nara so I can't enjoy daytime drinking 🤣.
Good morning, Yasubeyesan!
I also like to drink sweet and fruity wine by itself, but during the meal, I would like to drink more refreshing or less sweet 😁If your wife is OK with light and dry wine, you can drink more kinds of wine and get lost 😆👍
Hi Jay & Nobby 😀
I think the great thing about drinking out is the wonderful encounters you have with alcohol 😀.
I will talk to my wife and from now on, when drinking outside, I will actively try the restaurant's recommendations and broaden my range of drinks 😀.
Hi 3KAN4ON 😀
In our house, we always take the train and walk when we go walking with the wife and when we go to buy alcohol 😀.
It's nice to be able to enjoy alcohol on the go, but we can only bring back a few bottles of alcohol 😓.
Hi, Pon 😀
Finally, our family is going to be able to grow a little from a very beginner 😀.
First, we will look for a dry wine that looks easy to drink and gradually get the wife used to the umami dry wine 😀.
This Sake is light and not too sweet.
There are herbal flavor notes like licorice and mint. The finish is clean with a light mineral aftertaste. I am told this is a limited, seasonal Sake.

The second drink at Marukoma was my first "Koshu".
It is light and crisp with a pleasant lingering aftertaste.
The second sake was "Koshu", which is also from Niigata but has a different flavor from the "Hokusetsu" that we drank for the first sake 🎵.
