Fresh water nose, but very flavorful once you sip. Less easy-drinking than my go to bottle of theirs, but good in a different way. In spite of the burn, this was my favorite of the fall tasting flight. Excellent w/slightly sweet turnip pickle. ****

Virtually no aroma, but quite different once you take a sip - a spicy punch right at beginning with a short finish. Very dry, spice & minerals. ***

Nice fragrance. Rich & soft at first, then surprised with a hit of spice. Sweeter than I'd expect for a karakuchi. A bit Robutussin-like. ***

Excellent for amaguchi fans, although I prefer drier sake. Slow bite, can't taste it unless you let the sake linger on the tongue. ****

Fruity but only slightly sweet. After a 70-km bike ride on a hot summer day, it really hit the spot. Smooth with a lingering finish; best chilled. Don't know if it was psychosomatic or not, but aroma & slight sweetness reminded me of the sports drinks I'd been guzzling all day. ****

Described by waitress at Abe Liquor shop as "sukkari". So refreshing! Perfect for a summer night! Nihonshu equivalent of a gin & tonic. Fantastic gin& tonic flavors here, wow! *****
