I thought it might be limited to direct sales, but I was able to buy it at a liquor store. If you go down the shopping street near Okamachi Station, you will find an old shopping center with a supermarket in it. This is a community-based liquor store that is housed in it. They carry a wide variety of sake brands such as Yukitsuru, Asakayousei, Katanozakura, Kaygetsu, Sakura Masamune, Ootsuru, Shiraoi, Haginoduro, Shikizakura, and others. They seemed to be putting a lot of effort into craft beer and wine. The rice is Gohyakumangoku and Koshibuki. The rice is lightly cloudy to the point of being orikara. Basically, it is spicy, but the entrance is clean, and it tastes good with a firm umami and acidity in the latter half.

Purchased at Takatsuki Hankyu. To be honest, they have a smaller selection of alcoholic beverages than Umeda Hankyu, but I think their lineup is more tasteful than Umeda. Umeda relies more on on-site sales. You can also buy Kuninonaga and Kiyotsuru at Takatsuki Hankyu. Grape and banana-like atmosphere. Not too sweet and spicy, but clear and beautiful. I wrote "clear," but considering it as a dry wine, I wonder if it is a mellow dry type. I said it was spicy, but there is a moderate amount of sweetness. It is a modest type of sake, but you can't go wrong with it.

Purchased in-store at Hanshin Department Store When I asked what kind of sake tastes best when heated, I was told that junmai-shu is recommended. When I had it warmed up, my mouth was filled with the delicious taste of rice! I prefer a more robust sake like this to a light sake!

I bought it as a Niigata souvenir for myself, but I didn't drink enough in town, so I opened it in the car on the way home. It is a delicious sake with a nice aroma of rice, and I am sure it would have been delicious heated up.

I came across this sake on my way back from skiing in Niigata🍶. The moment I drank it, I could feel the rice. It was my favorite sake. I will go back to Pon Shukan!

The second bottle was a local sake from Itoigawa that I purchased at the Niigata Sake no Jin event in Abeno. It was a classic sake with a slight mild rice flavor 🍶. It goes well with seafood. 🙆‍♂️

It has a clear, yet mineral mouthfeel with a bitter aftertaste. Perhaps because Yukitsuru is made from natural spring water, the impression of minerality remains the same. I drank it twice before at a tasting event and one of those times was with the brewer, so he told me a lot of stories about how difficult it is to make the same flavor every time, or how he once made one for an overseas market but the intermediary company didn't work out. This time he didn't talk much😅.

Niigata Sake no Jin OSAKA⑱ I've had Yukitsuru a few times, though I've only seen it at department store tasting sales. I drank Yukitsuru Junmai Ginjo Fukuro Shibori-Non-filtered Nama-genshu It feels spicier than the last time I drank it. I remember it was gassy when it was freshly opened Yukitsuru Junmai Ginjo A little peculiar, but sweeter than the raw sake. The brewer was too taciturn and silent the whole time 😅. I wonder if it's like this at other department store tasting sales? I heard some people from other breweries said that they were not happy with the booth allocation and were sulking? Even though there were only a few people, it was a deserted section. You can't sell anything if it's like that, you know?

Itokawa, Niigata Prefecture. Tahara Sake Brewery Co. Yukitsuru Junmai-shu, natural spring water brewing. Yes, this is Yukitsuru. I had never seen it before, so I bought it at a tasting event at Hanshin Department Store. I had no prior knowledge of the brewery, so I didn't talk much with the brewer. I had it cold. The color was clear, almost colorless, but with a hint of yellow. The top aroma is mainly alcoholic, with a slight graininess. It has a fine, mineral-like mouthfeel and flows smoothly into the mouth. It has a minerally, yet gradually delicious flavor, with a slightly bitter aftertaste that stimulates the tongue with a slight spiciness. There is a little bit of nuttiness in the umami. It is a little more light and dry than other sake, but it is a very typical sake that you will never get tired of drinking. Ingredients: rice (domestic), rice malt (domestic) Alcohol content: 15 Polishing ratio: 65

I did it. I underestimated the cautionary note about opening the bottle. All I could do was watch as the cork popped and half the bottle flowed out before I could remove the aluminum lid. Good thing I opened it in the kitchen. Almost no aroma, firm and smooth (I guess), and clean on the palate. I bought it because I wanted to drink something like this in the summer, but I ended up drinking half of it.
