In searching for this I see I had this last year, same place. No longer can say, “I’m getting old.” Instead have to say simply, “I am old.” Freshly opened bottle and it was fantastic. But don’t trust an old man.
Now this is an autumn hiyaroshi. Outstanding even if it is still sweaty time, season wise. (Newly opened bottle helps.). Had to drink too fast because we had to get home.
Even though it’s Hiyaroshi season, still 30+ degrees today. Not feeling very Autumn like and this nihonshu didnt help the feelings much. Still a well knit drink.
From the Kura’s website “This light cloudy sake is made using 100% Tsuyahime rice, a specially cultivated rice grown by Inoue Farm in Yamagata Prefecture, with over 70% pesticides and chemical fertilizers removed. Tsuyahime is not a rice usually used for brewing sake, but rather a representative food rice of Yamagata Prefecture.”
Quite mellow but with a soft almost sour aroma. Really good.
Happy Thanksgiving! No turkey 🦃 but Karaage! Thankful for this and the following nihonshu and all the people working at Kikuta, the Kura and keeping us safe.
