It's been a long time since I've tasted a single ume (Japanese apricot), and although it's not the most fashionable and glamorous, it tastes like rice!
Since the Tengu Mai didn't fill my glass, I had a little bit of Ume Ichirin Kuradashi dry sake as a service. It is refreshingly dry, but has a hint of sweetness along with a thickening taste. It's interesting because it has a mouthfeel that is not typical of sake with alcohol.
