From the Abe series of Niigata's Abe Sake Brewery, this sake was created with the hope that people will "feel the characteristics of the raw material rice from year to year. They let the rice do what it does and release it as "SAZANAMI" in years when it melts and "ARANAMI" in years when it does not. This year this ARANMI was released and it is wonderfully umami. It is too easy to drink! It was cloudy and gassy, with a nice sweetness, and I drank it in no time.

Goto Sake Shop is a must-visit liquor store in Akita City, Akita Prefecture. They have a great selection of Akita's best sake in every corner of the city. I immediately bought the "Yukino Kayasha Bishu no Sekkei" and "Manzaku no Hana Super Limited," which I enjoyed at the sushi bar, and asked for other recommendations. And what's more, it's a secret sake that won a gold medal at a sake fair that year! It was a bit pricey, but I thought it would be a good souvenir for my husband. I bought another bottle for my husband, who prefers light and dry sake. Hou Junmai Daiginjo Unfiltered Harajuku" My husband said that this one was his favorite among the four. He is indeed a great sake brewer from Akita!

Paired with sushi from Akita Prefecture as well as Shinmasa No.6. The name "Bishu no Sekkei" is a good one. It has a mellow, sweet taste in the mouth. Personally, I think I liked it more than Shinmasa No. 6. It is a gem that shows the strength of Akita Prefecture.

It would be a shame not to enjoy Akita, a city of fine sake, on a business trip to Akita Prefecture! I decided to stay an extra night and enjoy Akita's sushi by myself. Sushi in a rice-producing region is delicious. The zuwai crab and octopus stewed tenderly between bites were also excellent. But above all, the sake pairing was to die for! We had a glass of Shinmasa No. 6 wine. The freshness of the sake was unbeatable. It was served well chilled, so it went down your throat nicely. Akita Prefecture was the best ♡♡♡!

2020 New Year's Special Label. I was exploring my sake history and found it, so I checked in for a nostalgic visit. I was enjoying Ecru, Lapis Lazuli, and №6 at a restaurant where you can enjoy Shinsei, and a thoughtful store owner let me try the Shinsei New Year. It may vary depending on how tipsy I am at the time, the atmosphere, and the food, but this is currently the best sake of my life✨. Mellow, fragrant, umami, acidity (almost none), mouthfeel, everything is at its peak. It was a supreme drink.

We found a chic liquor store near our house that carries "Shinmasa" and we tried to get a wide variety of it. It's breathtaking! Beautiful! I don't know about the technicalities of No. 6 yeast, or the fact that it's made from a live yeast, or the fact that it's made in a wooden vat, but it's just so good! The most affordable ecru is enough. The flavor and aroma is so good that it pops in your mouth. The ingredients are rice and rice malt from Akita Prefecture, so it's no wonder. However, as you drink from Ecru to Lapis Lazuli to Cosmos, the more polished it gets, the sweeter it becomes.

I'm so handsome to be able to drink it again this year. It is luck and timing to be able to get a bottle of Isobojiman's draft sake. I happened to come across it after it arrived. This year, I opened the bottle for a family celebration. The mouthfeel is great! No cloying taste at all, just the right balance of fragrance and acidity. Paired perfectly with sushi! A bottle of Isobojiman was gone in no time. See you next year☆.

Blue bottle of Tatenogawa. The bottle has an elegant appearance with a bright blue tinted neck. When I was looking for a gift for my husband, the waitress said, "This is delicious, you must try it," so I stopped drinking Kuroryu and went for this one. This is delicious! The first sip is sweet but has a nice aroma that wafts through the nose. The second sip is a lingering sweetness with a hint of sourness. It has a very well-balanced flavor, but the sweetness should go well with white fish. It is said to be unfiltered, unpasteurized, and unpasteurized. A few days after opening the bottle, it has a different taste and can be enjoyed for a while.

The season of Kuheiji's light nigori has arrived. This year, I was so enthusiastic that I reserved two bottles, but the light nigori feeling was weak; I don't remember it being this refreshing. Of course, the taste is stable, but personally, I think it is a bit lacking.

Abekan Shuzo, Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture Abe-kan" Junmai Ginjo, light nigori Nama-zake This is an ogara-mi that is only available at this time of the year. It has a mellow aroma typical of nama-zake, but is slightly effervescent and refreshing on the palate. It reminds me of a small sake brewery located at the foot of Shiogama Shrine in Shiogama, Miyagi Prefecture.
