Mikawa Samurai Izumi
This is a brand with a subtly tacky name, but it is said to be a historic brand that has been around since the Edo period.
The initial aroma is slightly sweet.
In the mouth, there is a mild sweetness with a hint of sourness.
The taste is rounded off by a slight astringency.
Although fire-aged, it was quite a tasty sake with a freshness to it ✨.
In the mouth, there is a faint aroma of alcohol, followed by a faint ginjo aroma and a gentle sweetness and acidity.
It is not as fruity as the nama-shu, but the sweetness is moderate and can be easily matched with food.
It is also quite cosy, so I will probably buy it again as a stocking stuffer for everyday drinking.
