#Grandfather's Drink
The jacket and name of this sake might lead one to expect it to be spicy and lacking in flavor, but that is exactly what Shizuoka sake is like.
It has just the right amount of umami, the aroma doesn't interfere with the food, and the aftertaste is just the right amount of spiciness for a great balance.
The jacket makes it look like a cheap shot, but it's not.
Today we are going out for a drink. This izakaya is a rare izakaya where you can eat a lot of vegetables 😁The sashimi is also reasonably priced with sea bream and swordfish. They sell vegetables, so they have a large selection of vegetable-based soft drinks.
They mainly have local Shizuoka sake, but they also have a lot of Omuraya sake from the famous Omuraya brewery, which is famous for Wakatake and Onna no Nyokase 🧐 This is the first time I've had anything from this brewery.
Today's sake was Oni Otome. I was in the mood for a sweet sake. The flavor was full and spreading. It is delicious 😋.
We had it with sashimi, tempura, and meat rolls!
The first taste is full-bodied and sweet, with a hint of fruity, but the sourness and bitterness remain in the aftertaste, making it a sake with a strong personality.
